Not vegan friendly, but good atmosphere - Edit
Had the vegetarian burger, but think the bread was not vegan. Alas, this was the only possibly vegan option. The atmosphere in this pub is great though and people are friendly. Hope they add a vegan option soon for you all to enjoy
Read morePros: Good service, Good atmosphere
Cons: No vegan options, Barely any concept of veganism

Poor for vegans I'm afraid - Edit
They have a large menu but alas there was no vegan meals. I'm not convinced that the waitress knew what a vegan was. Ended up getting a vegetarian burger and chips. Unsure if the burger was actually vegan. Couldn't recommend the place unfortunately. Staff were nice and it it wasn't too expensive though
Read morePros: Reasonably priced , Friendly service
Cons: Very limited vegan offering

Accommodating - Edit
Fully booked but squeezed us in. Menu just changed today so no aloo gobi pie as in the other reviews or vegetable curry as on the menu outside (actually there was a wee bit left but knowing they were leftovers was a little off putting). They were able to veganise the vegetarian burger. It was really tasty and well dressed with salad and avocado. The bun was a sesame bun instead of that described which is not vegan. It is served with chips but I wanted half chips half salad and they were happy to oblige. Both salad and chips were tasty too. The burger was a fake meat one rather than beans/vegetables which I am not a great fan of usually but I have to say I did enjoy this. I tasted the chocolate and coconut tart, it was very good indeed and nicely presented with chocolate sauce, fresh berries and a berry sorbet. I enjoyed my meal but it is disappointing to see that the new menu has not even one item market vegan. I must say they we were pleased to spend most of the day at Derrynane as lunch at Derrynane house and dinner at the blind piper kept us going.

Delicious meal - Edit
Stopped by for dinner and enjoyed Aloo Gobi pie with delicious side salad and chips. Pie was tasty and came with mayo chutney. My son had veg curry which was coconut base, like a massaman - no heat but flavor. The veggies, from what we could tell, were sweet potato and pumpkin/squash and chickpeas. He wolfed it down so had to be good! Good to see a couple of choices on the menu.
Read morePros: More than one choice, Not falafel , It was wholesome and tasted ‘home cooked’

One vegan option - Edit
For being a bit isolated, it's nice to have a vegan option somewhere and the aloo gobi pie was good. I wouldn't necessarily rate the staff as overtly friendly as suggested in the listing. We came in, and granted it was a busy Sunday, but they mostly ignored us. Another family walked in and got seated right away even though we were standing there. We had to wait until a table opened up and then take ourselves over to it, then wait awhile to get served. It's a cute place and has character but can't give it a high rating unfortunately.
