Nicely designed, more upscale restaurant. Offering dishes like quiche, dumplings, pasta with tofu, and stuffed peppers. Limited vegan options, clearly marked. Reported closed to HappyCow.
The small restaurant has a nice, tastfully designed interior. The food was ok but the options especially for vegans were very limited. There were 3 options for the main course altogether of which 1 was for vegans. From the other 2 one was unavailable in the early evening. There was also only one vegan option for a starter but that was a very tasty pumkin soup.
A warning: Don't take the starter platter. It's basically just 2 cheeses, olives and sun dried tomatoes and horribly overprices.
The best of the entire meal was the appetizer consisting of bread and 2 extremely nice dips. One tasted like Saag and the other one was a garlicy hummus.
I had a lovely birthday dinner at Bleichi23. At first I felt the menu was rather small and rather exensive. I quickly changed my opinion after I have seen and tasted the food. This is just excellent fresh, well seasoned and very good looking cuisine. A bit fancier (which is nice for a change, especially as a vegan!). What I really liked is that this is a restaurant where you can take meat eaters and they will be happy as the food is very normal and extremly good looking and tasting. Also the restaurant and the design of everything is rather stunning and modern. Another plus, was the lovely service and the general good athmosphere of the restaurant. I walked in as a sceptic and left as a fan. 5 Stars!
I really try to support all veg kitchens and enterprises so I've eaten here twice and as a vegan i must say that it is absolutely boring and overpriced. For starters, there is little option beyond a standard salad but i gave it a try: it was a banana soup that was so over-salted i needed a litre of water and lots of bread just to get it down. there was one option for main course: pasta with tofu. hmmmm, not exactly the creativity i look for when eating out, especially at an "upscale" veg resto. the vegan dessert which is only one choice, is fruit "carpaccio". AKA expensive sliced fruit. the interior design is where they've put a lot of their creativity and investment. it's lovely. the only atmospheric set-back is that this restaurant shares space and/or owns a sushi restaurant that is adjoining. so you may want to take that into consideration if you are not fond of fishy, non-veg sushi smell wafting in the air. perhaps for lacto-ovo vegetarians, it's better with more choice but as a vegan, i will not go back. too bad because luzern could really do with a good, progressive veggie resto.
