Let them know you are coming in advance - Edit
Recently took a trip to barnard castle and went to the blacksmith arms after a long walk. I was told they didn’t have any vegan cheese (although they did go out of their way to check) and told me that veganism had dropped so they no longer purchased the cheese as didn’t want it going to waste. They did make me a pizza with no cheese but it was not the best. They did say that if they knew someone was coming in advance they would make sure to have some in which was really nice. The place is has a lovely beer garden - just make sure to ring a day or a couple in advance if you are making the trip😄
