Nice Lunch

We stopped in here for lunch. As everyone else has stated one choice, and it was good. I loved the spicy mustard. The bartender was very helpful. We were able to get a salad as a side. I also received great advice on cider picking!!

Pros: Parking, Service

Cons: Limited choices

One vegan option

As other reviews said, there was only one vegan option. At least this option was tasty! The apple sage sausage on the bun with collard greens was yummy, just watch out for the spicy mustard! It was too hot for me! The side of house made chips were good and crispy too. I just wish that there was more vegan dishes.

Pros: Vegan dish was good

Cons: Only one vegan dish, Serves meat

Tasty vegan sausage with all the fixins

I got the Slack Ma Girdle with pickled collards, peppers, caramelized onions, and spicy mustard on a thick bun. You could also make your own sausage sandwich topped with your choice of veggies and sauces

Delicious, excellent collards, and mustard is awesome. Bun was a little dry. Housemade chips were thin, crispy, and delicious.

Echoing the other reviews :)

A really good vegan sausage with a good number of sides and a few toppings to choose from. Cool cider bar with a friendly staff, a good amount of indoor/outdoor seating and a neighborhood pub feel. It's too bad I don't drink anymore ;)

Like the previous reviewers said the only con is that there is just the one vegan entree option, but that is 100 times better than no vegan option and, so, it is much better than many other pubs and bars.

This is a great place to go with your non-vegan friends.

Pros: Good vegan sausage, Friendly staff, Cool pub

Cons: Just the one vegan option

Yummy vegan sausage

There's really only one option for vegetarians here, but it's an excellent one. Build-your-own vegan sausage sandwich with a number of toppings (some vegan, most vegetarian). Some of the mustards can be quite spicy. The french fries are great! (I'm guessing they're fried in peanut oil.)

I went after lunch so there was no crowd at all. The waitstaff seemed nice and helpful enough, although I think they accidentally gave me two "glasses" of cider and charged me for larger "pints". Still tasty though.

Pros: yummy vegan sausage and Guglhupf bread, good fries

Cons: only one veg*n entree option, the ciders are expensive and smaller than describe

Limited menu but good vegan option

Black Twig is mostly a place to go enjoy one of their 60-plus cider options, but they do offer a small menu worthy of a filling lunch or dinner. I ordered straight from the menu "signature sausage sandwiches" with no modifications: the "SLACK MA GIRDLE" which is a vegan sausage (Field Roast-brand apple sage sausage), served on a fresh bun from (local bakery) Guglhupf, with Pickled Collard Greens, Spicy Peppers, Carmelized Onions, and Mustard, along with a side of french fries. You can vary the toppings on the sausage as several of them are vegan. I'll definitely be back. Sure, I can buy my own Field Roast sausage, but it's a fun place to enjoy a drink and nosh, especially if going out with non-veg friends/family. And I love that they have a fully vegan sausage option right on the menu.

Pros: vegan sausage with several creative topping option, huge drink list, mostly cider but other options as, friendly staff

Cons: limited options, in one of those apartment buildings with storefron, having to look at non-vegan sausage, ha!
