Great food, lovely people - Edit
We phoned Black Salad, as we were not able to be there before closing time. We ordered a diner for two, and could pick it up till 5pm. The food was wonderful, flavourful, and very creative. And we love the people there. Thanks for everything

Everyday they have a different menu from where to choose from. The food is delicious!! You only have to pay 20€ for the whole meal, this includes: starter, salad or soup, main course and dessert. Big portions! Water and bread too. Staff super friendly. There are beautiful paints on the walls with vegan messages (which you can buy). Very short walking distance from the centre.

Super lekker gegeten! Na 2 maanden door Spanje reizen is dit het beste vegan restaurant waar we zijn geweest. De gerechten zijn niet alleen lekker, maar zien er ook mooi uit. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Het menu biedt genoeg opties voor iedereen (ook gluten vrij).

The food is incredibly tasty. There is a menu with bread, starter, main, second main, dessert and drinks (including alcoholic) for 12-18€. Plus, the staff is very nice and the service is lightning fast. One of my favourites!

Les plats sont vraiment très bons. La déco et la musique sont top. Le tout pour un prix très correct : amuse-bouche, entrée, plat, dessert et vin pour 16 euros. Petit bémol sur les desserts pas vraiment à la hauteur du reste. Réservation conseillée !

Hay sólo menú de 15 euros pero por lo que te dan vale la pena. Vas a salir lleno lleno pero si no consigues comer todo te lo meten en contenedores de papel para llevar. La comida está super rica. Iba con una amiga y elegimos cosas diferentes para probar todo. Uno de lo mejores veganos a buen precio donde he comido.

I’ve been visiting the place almost every month for about a couple of years, but I never got to write the review, because I was having mixed feelings on this place: Food is usually great, tasty, filling and with a touch of innovation. However, I felt many times that service could improve... a lot. That kept me from reviewing, waiting for the place (and its staff) to settle down and show me their true colors. But the members of the staff vary quite often and I must say that, apart from one of them who’s always been really eager an willing to make you feel comfortable, the performance of the others is not very good. They don’t seem to be well organized, many times service is too slow and it is very hard to see them smiling at you or even listening at you, for that matter. I always call to book a table, but since I eat alone on my business trips to town, they lately make me sit at the bar, which is a very uncomfortable one, specially for tall people. I understand when the tables are all full, but most of the times, when I finish my meal, some tables are still empty... I don’t understand the need to make clients feel uncomfortable when you have empty tables. A couple of times I spoke about this with the staff and finally got to sit at a table... but only for those times. If you want a table and you eat by yourself you have to, almost literally, wrestle with the staff to get it... even if the place is empty. The last time I went there (It was the latest but it will also be the last time) after calling to make the booking as usual, I got the bar, as usual. But after a while waiting for the menu, a couple came in: “Have you got a booking?” “No” “OK, sit here, at this table”. It was about enough for me.

Amazing value for money - Edit
I´m impressed that a three-course meal, plus a little appetizer, plus bread and organic nectar will cost a total of 12 euros... especially given the quality of it all: the first course was a great fideuá with spinach, the second one polenta with a mushroom sauce, peppers and a tofu scramble, and as a dessert I got a walnut sauce with dates, typical from the Basque Country. Everything was delicious, and the only (minor) minus was the lack of space at the time I arrived plus a couple loud kids. Support this place!
Read moreUpdate: After having been there a number of times, I still like just about everything about Black Salad.. but there's room for improvement: for starters, sitting at the bar may save your day if you haven't booked, as the place is almost always full. However, EVEN IF you book in advance, they may keep you waiting longer than expected, so make sure you don't show up in a hurry. They could, however, organise themselves a bit better in this regard.
I still think it gets a little too loud at times, but hey, maybe that's me.
Another thing that could also be improved is not to "hype" the dishes too much, as you end up expecting more than what you get. Plus sometimes it's not even accurate! Case in point - "Corinth sultana raisins". Well, they are either Corinth currants or they are sultanas, just not both.
