Not satisfied - Edit
I ordered a salad with avocado. There were not much avocado on my salad and it was quite hard. The salad itself was okay.

Ate here a few times when I was in Tirana. Love the atmosphere and they have quite a few vegan options. The vegan pancakes for breakfast are amazing and filling for the rest of the day. 😍🤤

Great Food, Great People, Great Atmosphere - Edit
We found Bitter through HappyCow on our first night in Tirana, and it was the perfect start to our trip. My wife is vegan, and our group included both vegans and non-vegans. Everyone found something they enjoyed. The vegan options were clearly marked, and the flatbreads, burgers, and fries were excellent.
Read moreThe owners have created a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
I’d give it 5 stars, though I know HappyCow reserves that rating for fully vegan restaurants. If you’re looking for a place that does a great job accommodating both vegans and non-vegans, Bitter is well worth a visit.

Yes to this place, but beware the honey - Edit
Vibes on point, lovely staff, separate veg menu is YES. The food was basically exactly what I wanted, but my fruit plate had a little ramekin in the middle which turned out to full of honey. I told them I was vegan beforehand. I did not bring it to their attention afterwards because I don’t wanna be like that.
Read moreI can’t decide if this is a dig or not, but some of the fruit on the platter was right out the freezer. Very practical, climate-forward, waste reduction, but less freshness and less enjoyable texture 🫐🤷🏼♀️🫐
Pros: Staff, Vibes, Separate veg menu
Cons: Honey usage after declaration of veganism

There are a lot of choices, even a whole vegan menu. From breakfast to dinner. The avocadotoast was amazing. For the vegetarians among us, there were also a lot of vegetarian options.

Lovely spot - Edit
We came here a couple times during our stay, initially for a spot of lunch. The vegan shakshuka and flatbread was delish, the owner Kelly even came over to introduce himself. We then went back for the Trivia night on every Friday which was great fun and great way to meet other people. We were handed vouchers for free chicken wings but when Kelly realised we were vegan (and we were headed home the next day) he very kindly invited us back in the morning for a vegan breakfast and took care of our bill for our Avocado toast. I was worried the avocado toast was gonna be really plain but it wasn’t, lots of rocket and balsamic glaze. Delish, really good prices, lovely staff and great atmosphere. Seriously, even the hummus and pita starter was great (so simple yet effective)

Had some great vegan pancakes, shakshuka and iced lattes (either soya or oat). Had to sit inside as the covered outside area was full of smokers, although the inside was nice. Delicious food, attentive staff, good service.

A must visit for anyone seeking delicious vegan brunch!
Read moreTheir vegan pancakes are a standout, perfectly fluffy and topped with fresh fruits that add a delightful sweetness. The avocado on toast is equally impressive with creamy avocado spread generously on toasted bread and topped with greens, mushrooms and tomatoes. But the star of the show for me was the vegan shakshouka, which was so flavourful with an Albanian twist and a hearty dish that will leave you satisfied.
The staff are Incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. Would definitely recommend! 10/10!
Pros: Super friendly, funny staff, Delicious food!

Probably the best breakfast I've had in 4 years as a vegan.
Read moreSimple, good portions and absolutely delicious!
Good WiFi and simple separate menu on their website - https://bitterrestaurant.com
We were served by Enea. Who was funny, friendly and attentive.
Had all three breakfast options (at time of writing):
* Avo toast - stacked, fresh and perfect.
* Shakshouka - unctuous, warming, filling and packed full of flavour.
* Pancakes - light, fluffy, with really fresh fruit, maple syrup and beautiful little black currents for little punches of flavour.
If you go anywhere in Tirana, go here!

Pancakes with syrup and cofee - Edit
The place is a nice spot. I ordered pancakes in the vegan option and an American coffee. They serve me quickly and with a cute presentation. Pancakes also include fresh fruit and yummy. The manager visited our table giving us welcoming and asking for our opinion. I think was a great place, quietly, gently, and with a delicious vegan option. I love it! And hospitality is also very important, grateful for that.

WATCH OUT! - Edit
Summarized: They do not really care if they serve you vegan food or not.
Read moreBitter bistro bar & restaurant is a really nice spot with multiple options that can be made vegan. We had an avocado sandwich and pancakes — though a little bit overpriced — totally ok.
Unfortunately the kitchen staffs knowledge about veganism is limited as we got honey with our pancakes — though we specifies them to be vegan.
When we got our pancakes we asked right away if it came with maple syrup, something the waitress could assured us. We put it on the pancakes but with the first bite noticed the distinct taste of honey.
After insisting it was honey the waitress checked with the chef, and yes indeed it was honey.
We were told later by a guy that seemed to be a manager or such, that the reason we got honey was that the supplier hadn’t delivered.
I was going to rate the place higher, but as they on top charged us extra for maple syrup, after I couldn’t eat 1/3 of my food contaminated with honey. It’s a clear 1 star from me.
See the receipt that I ordered VEGAN pancakes.
If you have no special dietary requirement I guess it’s fine to eat here, but if you do I would steer clear of this restaurant as they don’t seem to take dietary needs seriously.
Cons: Couldn’t care less that they served us honey
Carrothuntress
In octobre 2024 they knew exactly that WE didnt want honey. We asked what Kind of syrup It is.
