Good vegan dining - Edit
The hotel that Bistro Bardot is in seems a little out of place in the middle of Friedrichshain, especially when you see how clinically decorated it is and how quiet it is inside the high-ceilinged room where it is situated. Not the best first impression!
Read moreThe menu was interesting and had a decent variety snacks, starters, salads, mains, desserts. Everything was also in English and was clearly marked as vegetarian or vegan. The vegetarian dishes can also be prepared vegan.
We decided to start off by sharing a platter with hummus, chick-peas, roasted veg, olives and soy 'meat' balls. We were a little disappointed by the size of it (e.g. 3 tiny 'meat' balls, a tiny dollop of hummus), especially considering it cost €15. It wasn't particularly spectacular taste-wise either.
After that I had the saitan kebab (chunks of saitan and roast veg on a skewer), which came with wild rice, a roasted tomato and some guacamole, and my wife had the 'ensalada del mar', which consisted of strips of teriyaki tofu on a bed of seaweed and algae salad. We were both pretty impressed with our mains and thought they were much better value than the starters.
We couldn't resist dessert as there was a warm chocolate 'tart' (more like a brownie mixture based cake in the shape of a biscuit) and crema catalana and they were both delicious.
It was very much a case of big prices and small portions, but we thought the food was quite good quality and we felt satisfied afterwards - and so you should hope after the bill came to €50 (including two pots of tea).
We also noticed they served breakfast, so it would perhaps be a good place to go for breakfast if you're in the area.
I would certainly recommend checking it out for a change if you want to try something new in Berlin, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it ahead of any of the other good veg*n restaurants in Berlin. Viasko remains our favourite with Lucky Leek being our other favourite.

Organic mostly vegan buffet - Edit
They offer great options for a vegan brunch (homemade granola, overnight oats, milk rise, plant based yoghurts and milks, different kinds of bread, jellies, spreads, fruits, cakes, boulletes, tofu, vurst, coffee, tea, juices, salads, tortilla, sausages... Much of this is homemade, in parts regional and organic (I don't know exactly what). But they are only mostly vegan - they also have cow milk and cheese. They label it at the buffet, but in front of the restaurant they have a 100% vegan sign which is just not true. Nonetheless recommended!

Creative and large organic breakfast Buffet - Edit
Many creative vegan options including croissant, Currywurst, diffefent salads, cake and spreads - definitely no boring vegan hotel breakfast. The "normal" stuff like bread, vegan butter, fruit, veggies and different jams wss also there. Juices, Tea and coffee were also included. It is a little pricey (22,50€) but given the completely organic and homemade offering and drinks included, I think the price ist reasonable. If I am in town again, I'll be back

Lekker ontbijtbuffet - Edit
Het restaurantje hoort bij het hotel, maar je kan van buiten ook ontbijten. Redelijk prijzig, maar dan is, buiten de kaas en de melk, alles wel vegan. Heerlijk croissants, veel zelfgemaakte smeersels en muesli met toppings etc. Ook leuke vegan imitatie vleesbeleg. Medewerkers erg vriendelijk.

Good, but improvements possible - Edit
The pastry/bread section was great. High quality bread/pretzel/croissants. Nevertheless there were some downsides. The coffee was not good (but that could be a German-wide problem, I hope the German elections will change this), no fresh orange juice (what you would expect) and of course: not fully vegan (they probably fear for hotel guests who really can't live without their baby milk cheese).

Most of the buffet is vegan. I really love the croissants, which are freshly baked. Vegan scrumbled egg was not "eggy" but like a curry, which is ok but some kala namak would be great.

Opening hours are quite good for a hotel breakfast.

The breakfast buffet was pretty good, and the vegan options are plentiful and well labeled. However, it was quite expensive at 16 euros apiece, especially if you don’t have a large appetite in the morning. Just around the corner is Kaffee Ingwer, a much better value if you don’t have a huge breakfast, and with much better vegan croissants.

Definitely not to miss, their vegan buffet for breakfast is definitely the best way to start the day! A nice selection of savoury and sweets items, such as scrambled tofu, currywurst, savoury spreads, cold cuts and vegan cakes and croissants. Don’t miss the mushroom spread!

Amazing food - Edit
I visited this place two times (some months ago) and we had a variety of tapas each time which were delicious and very creative. We did not try the main courses though. Although we spent quite a lot of money, the waitress (she was the same both times) made us feel out of place both times. We felt very uncomfortable since she was very cold and seemed to be bothered by us, although the restaurant was almost empty and we didn't have any extra requests or behaved in a weird way. In the end, even though I had great food here, I didn't really feel the urge to return. Maybe she just had a weird day, but it felt like customer service was not her strong suit. :(

Romantic setting - Edit
We stayed in the Almodovar Hotel for a couple of nights and thought if we don't find anything else, we can always eat at the Bistro Bardot every night. This plan changed quickly after we had our dinner here the first night. The starters were ok, but I really did not like the main course at all. My friend then offered me to switch plates, but I did not like his meal either, so I ended up quite hungry - what a shame, because it was very expensive. And I was not the only one - my friend was able to eat a bit more of his food, but he did not like it very much either. And we are both not picky. Breakfast was a lot better, by the way.

Yes indeed this was a treat. To push the boat out now and again on holiday is acceptable I think. This is a hotel restaurant so we knew what to expect in terms of price. Hotel eateries don't come cheap. Why? It seems to be an unwritten rule of the capitalist world. However, this is a vegetarian orientated hotel, so all is good. The setting is extremely plush with beautiful wooden tables and fittings. A lot of investment has been made here. The food is quite sensational, something to be savoured. Portion sizes are small but this is balanced by the quality. You do get free bread and dips though. The seitan and tofu main dishes we had were quite exceptional, and a starter of chick pea bread with tomato salsa was a perfect introduction. €14 for a bottle of house white helped make the experience an enjoyable one. If you like gourmet vegetarian food in plush surroundings this is the place for you. Vegetarianism has definitely progressed from the days of the Govinda metal tray slops. Enjoy Bistrot Bardot.

I love the place, it's really nicely decorated. The food is expensive for what it is: My friend had an appetizers plate with hummus and stuff, wasn't amazing but still good, fresh and nicely prepared. Great wine selection! I had the raw pasta and I so love this dish, I can't tell anything bad about it. The atmosphere is really posh but you can still come as you are :)

I stayed in the Almodovar Hotel recently and kept coming back to Bistro Bardot for breakfast and dinner. The menu is stacked with great vegan options - I'd particularly recommend the hummus and the tarte flambee. The only downside is that it takes forever for the waitress to come to the table in the evenings. I ended up going to get her several times. I'd recommend making sure you have plenty of time spare if you're eating dinner here.

Great fresh food and breakfast - Edit
We stayed at the Almodóvar Hotel, and had a dinner and a breakfast in the restaurant. The food is really fresh and feels healthy compared to most of the vegan food availiable in Berlin. About 80-90% of the menu is vegan. They have an amazing hummus with sundried tomatos - to die for!

We stayed in Almodovar hotel, the hotel Bistro Bardot is located in, and had breakfast here. It was a delicious breakfast buffet from 07:00 till 11:00. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, modern-rustic style. There were vegan and vegetarian options on the buffet, breads, spreads, salads, porridge, cereal, jams, one kind of cake, and warm options as well, for example vegan curry wurst, very tasty, and vegan scrambled "egg". Great option if you want to go out to have breakfast in Berlin.

I am a passionate vegan and my boyfriend is a passionate meat and dairy eater!he kindly agreed to come to this restaurant with me!let me tell u the two of us were licking our plates!the service was second to none!i am a fluent german speaker but my boyfriend didnt speak a word and the waitress was so attentive!they sent out a complimentary home made bread basket with home made vegan tofu and sunflower seed pate and olive oil!the waitress took her time advising us on wine selection!as a main I got the raw vegan zucchini pasta with sundried tomato sauce and my boyfriend got the Zueri Geschnetzeltes, which was a creamy tofu sauce with a potato rosti!both of us were so excited!then for desert I got the raw vegan fig and pear strudel and he got the mexican lime chocolate cake!let me just say it was beyond divine!for all of this plus 2 glasses of wine and 2 glasses of prosecco and a 1ltr bottle of water we paid 58e!now thats a bargain!the interior is very stylish and chic and attracts a young trendy crowd!i would recommend this to any person!!!!delicious!!!!

Bistro Bardot is a beautiful,veggiefriendly restaurant. The food there was quite nice and very tasty. The presentation was clean and the food was cooked to perfection. All is organic and fresh served. Also the waitingstaff were very friendly and courteous - so we felt completely contented.
