Delicious!

I ate the beet salad with no goat cheese - added tofu, and it was fantastic!
Hubby ate the Krunchy Kale Wrap and really liked it as well.😄we would eat here again when in Knoxville next! #Veganuary

All excellent

Best veggie burger I've tasted. Made in-house of red beans I was told.

Pros: Mult. Vegan options - best veg burger I've had, Delicious food that pays attention to detail, Flavorful, crispy fries. An authentic atmosphere

Cons: There are no discernible cons

Better before pandemic

Several visits before pandemic, and vegan options were interesting and tasty. Visit for our wedding anniversary this past weekend highly disappointing. Only vegan option was a hummus wrap and some fries. Not festive or living up to the venue or past experiences at all. The saving grace was some good music, an unexpected treat. The venue is now the most interesting part of the visit. Such a sad state since it had had really good vegan previously.

Pros: Nice vibe, venue

Cons: downgraded vegan options

Nice environment not many options

It’s a nice restaurant, and my non vegan family loves it. They usually have a few vegan options and they are okay. The vegan sausages are really good.

Excellent Lunch!

Enjoyed mixed veggies with tofu in a curry sauce with rice. Ordered a side of vegan Collard Greens which were hearty and satisfying. Quaint little gem with historical architectural features.

Pros: Vegan Collard Greens, Vegan and GF options

Cons: Limited vegan options

My “go to” place!

This is where I try to have dinner prior to a show or concert. They also serve brunch, so it’s a great place to come with family or for a special occasion.

Small amount of vegan options but tasty.

We had a knowledgeable waitress who helped us decide what to order based on how they cooked certain items and everything we had was excellent.

Great brunch spot

We went for brunch on Saturday and got the three sisters succotash and roasted eggplant ratatouille with quinoa. Both were delicious but I especially loved the ratatouille. Our waitress was knowledgeable about vegan options which I really appreciate. She also provided us with toast and jam for no charge since everyone else had biscuits and jam. I’ll be back!

Cool place

I had the black beans & rice w/ chimichurri AND owner made hot sauce which was really good also tempeh bacon. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Unexpected bonus was a jazz duo who were fantastic. (As a fellow musician I don’t use superlatives lightly). There is also a sweet potato kale avacado bowl as well as a few other veg/vegan choices.

Pros: Live music, Owner made hot sauce!, Friendly knowledgeable staff

Cons: Parking is $8/2 hr if you can’t find a meter

Decent food

I had the fried brussels sprouts and black beans with rice. Both dishes were a bit boring and bland in my opinion. My boyfriend had the salat and a vegan burger, which he liked.

Cons: Rather expensive, not many vegan options

Delicious

Upscale, traditional venue. Walking in, I saw a sticker on the front door that says "vegan-friendly" which was awesome. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about what was vegan and what wasn't. Very helpful and kind. I got the fried okra appetizer - delicious. Had just a little heat to it. The Succotash main entree was delicious. I added tofu to it. The vegetables, tofu, everything was cooked perfectly. A healthy, gourmet treat. Highly recommended.

great place

Popped in for a meal before going to a show next door. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. They had a vegan stir fry on the specials menu but I opted for the veggie bowl. Fried tofu, sweet potatoes, kale, lentils, and nutritional yeast over rice. Outstanding flavor mix. Put a little spicy vinegar on it to really kick it up.

always good

Bistro is always good, and many times great. Love the roasted beets, they always have great daily specials, and we especially love to order whatever is fresh out of Martha's garden. Food cooked with love! The cool downtown atmosphere is an added bonus. Aargh they won't let me give them 5 cows because they also serve meat. It's a bummer because their food is great and their veggies are coming fresh from the farm. I'd give them 5 cows if the site would let me!!!

great atmosphere and good choices

Went to Bistro at the Bijou with a coworker while on business in Knoxville. This is a great spot for a casual bite especially if you need to keep a meat eater happy.

The special today was a vegan quinoa bowl, the soup was vegan and the menu itself has multiple veggie and vegan options. It isn't as extensive as a veg only restaurant but for pub style dining it was great.

I had a bowl with basmati, collard greens, black eyed peas and chow chow (peppers in vinegar) and it was very wholesome and satisfying.

There was a great jazz trio playing as well adding to the already nice ambiance. Prices were very reasonable, meal was $15/person including tax tip and a ginger tea!

Pros: ambiance , pricing, selection (for normal restaurants)
