Fantastic variety and service - Edit
I got a plate of greens that were so tasty and my husband got the vegan sampler platter. My son had vegan lentil soup. Sauces for the bread were vegan and coconut yogurt was also available! Tasty and filling!

Fantastic vegan menu - Edit
This meal left my parter and I near speechless. Although the wait staff started off describing meat dishes as the restaurant’s “bread and butter”, when we got ahold of the vegan menu we were in heaven. The menu is honestly a bit hard to navigate, but no worries. The wait staff helped us pick out a savory turnover appetizer and sampler platter entree. We shared both and BA brought out the entree on two separate plates. The quantity was hearty, we both left stuffed despite sharing. Each dish in the entree sampler was magnificent, and they all complemented one another in distinct ways. It was more than tasty, it was complicated and artful. And I’m not one who particularly prizes service in the dining experience, but this team really stood out. They were friendly, patient with the menu, and well versed on curating a vegan-friendly meal. Plus, the meal came with little goodies that were a surprise. For instance, while we were waiting they brought out a flatbread with four dips (caution: one dip was not vegan) which were delicious and distinct. Overall; great food, great staff, great experience!

Fantastic food, goodly amount of vegan options - Edit
This tucked-away spot in the far reaches of upper NW DC is well worth the trip. The atmosphere is exotic, with cool art and novel decor. Our server was in training, and was as sweet and humble as he could be and explained that he has just gone plant-based himself - hurray! We explained that we were vegan, and he was very well-versed with the veganizable options in the vegetarian section, including that they had a vegan version (almond) of the classic yogurt sauces! This was a first for me, in the past I've always had to skip this element of Middle Eastern food. I ordered the Qabuli Combination Platter, which was incredible. They did not have any vegan desserts, which bummed us out and we asked our server to passed our bummed-outness along to the management. After dinner we took a stroll around the neighborhood, which is adorable. So a really fun night out, all in all.

Lovely dinner - Edit
First off, the service here was absolutely incredible! They provide complimentary bread with amazing dipping sauces to start the meal. Almost all of the vegetarian options can be made vegan. I wish there were more vegan appetizer options but there are plenty of wonderful entree choices. I also had a spiced pear cocktail which was heavenly. My boyfriend got a vegan stewed eggplant entree that was fantastic!
Read moreAt the end of the meal they brought out a complimentary rice pudding. When the waitress realized I was vegan and could not have the rice pudding, she sweetly brought over two mini pomegranate martinis for us. I was blown away by the staff’s attentiveness and kindness throughout the night.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options , Amazing service
Cons: More expensive

One Of The Best Vegan Meals Ever! - Edit
This is the second location of this fine Afgani restaurant, and a third location is about to open in McLean, VA with even more vegan options.
Read moreI just ate one of the best meals I have ever had. I ordered the Qabuli Combination Plate and the Kachaloo With Mushrooms and Sabzi Lawaan. Both dishes were perfectly spiced, balanced, intricately flavorful, and every dish on the combination dish was spectacular! They have a large vegan menu, and be sure to ask your server for recommendations. The ambiance of this restaurant is very classy, and stylish, and the service is 5 star. Be sure to make a reservation, as this restaurant fills uo, even on Monday nights.
