Delectable pastries

I was disappointed to find Biota Vegan’s spots in the pastry case at Rainbow Grocery quite barren on a Thursday afternoon at 4pm since their website indicates that they do daily deliveries to the coop. But perhaps I just had bad luck that day: at about the same time on the following Monday, I was pleasantly surprised to find a handful of options from Biota still available. I picked out an apple fritter and a bacon and cheese croissant ($3.99 each). Both were absolutely fantastic! The bacon could’ve fooled me had I not known that it was made at a vegan bakery. I hope I can try some of their other items, like the spinach and artichoke scones next time I’m in the neighborhood.

Pros: 100% vegan pastries, wonderful flavors

Cons: pricey

Amazing catering

Biota catered our wedding and totally killed it. Our guests couldn’t shut up about how good the food was. Cake, too! I couldn’t recommend Biota any more highly.
