Determined to make the most of a much needed—and altogether too rare—free Saturday afternoon, I was in the mood to merrily gorge upon a slew of Indian delicacies, though, of course, I wasn’t willing to compromise on quantity or quality. With this rather stringent criteria in mind, as soon as this place popped up as an available option, I knew that I had happened on my happy place.
Read morePreviously, when having dined with this franchise elsewhere, I had the opportunity to get a good sense of what they had to offer, but I’d never really fully delved into their repertoire. In this instance, I very much did, and what I found was excellence throughout.
Far from being a facsimile of the traditional cuisine they offer, there was genuine authenticity to all that I had, and there was no dish that didn’t offer up fabulous flavours or bonafide satisfaction. From the humble yet well-executed samosas to the more ostentatious Dabeli, and from the perfectly crisp Kachoris to the rather unique kuttu puri, everything that I had was tremendous.
I did have a couple of particular favourites that were worthy of special mention, namely the soft, beautifully filled mixed vegetable roll and the satisfyingly slippery khandvi.
An out-and-out success, there’s certainly nothing that gave me any reason not to want to go back for more sooner rather than later.
