So good - Edit
This place is wonderful. Their lentil soup is some of the best I’ve ever had, simple and bright flavor. Love the woodland bowl and Cajun Mac. Definitely not vegan junk food (not knocking vegan junk food), beans, rice, veggies and wholesome food you’d make at home (only better 😂). We went once before in 2019 and so glad they’re still serving up delicious food we could Doordash. 😍

I have yet to go to the actual cafe but I did get their Mushroom sandwich with cashew cheese at a vegan pop up. SO GOOD!! It was light and contained so much flavor in just a few simple ingredients. Next time I want to go with the Mac and cheez

Delicious vegan options - Edit
Wasn’t sure what to expect, but glad we made the trip out from Escondido. A cool little cafe. We had the portabello sandwich and jackfruit tacos, and it was so good! I haven’t eaten at lots of places, and haven’t seen these kind of dishes before. I would go back again!

First visit of many. - Edit
Went in for a late lunch since we were in the area. This was our first time here so it took a few minutes to decide...it ALL looked good. So many of the items were tempting, but I was narrowing it down to one of the Taco dishes.
Read moreWhen the wife decided to go with those, I went with an item that was not on the printed menu, the Striped Burrito.
Burrito came out first. Tempeh, black beans, rice in a nice sauce, wrapped in flour tortilla striped with cashew and mole sauce. WONDERFUL. Great flavor.
Taco dish came with 2 tacos and you can have different ones. She selected 1 Chili Guava jack-fruit and 1 Kung Pao Chickpea. This came with side of sweet potato and black bean salad. We both prefered the flavor of the KUng Pao.
Staff/owner(?) was friendly and helpful in explaining the selection. It did not seem like it took very long to get served.
We are not in this part of the county very often, but certainly will try to get back here again some time.
Pros: Good variety on meal choices, YUMMY!!!, Nice Staff. Knew food safety. Clean restrooms.
Cons: Too far away from home :(

Great food Wonderful staff - Edit
Had cheesesteak sandwich and a taste of dessert. Great tastes. The best thing about this place was the owner and guy who works there. I do not remember his name but he is a soccer player. He had a great attitude and you can tell he loves working there.

So good and worth more than the wait - Edit
We came here on a lark after finishing the listing on Happy Cow and so glad we did. We’ve been vegan for 5/6 years and have looked high and low for a suitable mac ‘n cheeze.....we have found it, only suitable is entirely incorrect. The Mac ‘n cheeze is the best I’ve had since going vegan, hands down. Creamy, warm, just a hint of saltiness and small bites of veggies interlaced make this bowl enough to put a smile on any Mac ‘n cheese lover’s face.
Read moreWe also had the toona on baguette which my wife loved. The mix had both the flavor she has been craving and the texture (thanks to the jackfruit) that made the sandwich a hit. I opted for the mushroom party, a stew with several types on a bed of sprouted brown rice. Hearty, deep and filling, everything you can ever want in a stew, especially on a chilly October afternoon.
The dessert we choose (the wishing well, cookies and creme cheesecake) was based on another review and damn if it wasn’t the most decadent thing we’ve had in a while. Smooth, silky mouthfeel with just enough cookie bits that it walked the line of being too rich and not having enough body like an expert gymnast performs on the high beam. I’d eat two more if I could manage. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make this a place we’ll return to.
Pros: Organic food abounds, House made delights, Luscious desserts
Cons: Limited seating, Wait time for order

Mac and cheese!! - Edit
I stopped by here to get some food to go. I grabbed the Mac and cheese. It was so yummy. Such a wonderful comfort food and I love that they add in some carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower for a bit of nutrients. I didn’t have a chance to try anything else, but staff was super friendly and if I’m ever in the area again I’ll be back!

Just visited from the OC and absolutely loved it! The owner and staff are as friendly as can be and the food is incredible. The Kung Pao tacos and Woodland bowls were so good, and the cacao caramel muffin was seriously the best muffin I've ever had! Highly reccomend!!

I’ve tasted a few items from their menu: dirty mac, woodland rice bowl, cookies, cashew pie. All were delicious with strong, memorable flavors. The portion size is reasonable, but don’t expect leftovers. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Awesome! - Edit
We had lunch at Bigfoot yesterday and the consensus was that we wish they were closer to us (we live down in East County). We had the mac and cheese and cuba libre sandwich and a slice of banana bread. We also brought home some muffins. The food was a little pricey but to be expected for vegan, organic food. They are a smaller operation so just be prepared in regards to wait times and some dishes not being available and such.

Once I learned that Bigfoot Natural Cafe had ditched their non-vegan items and become fully vegan, I was eager to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious with unique flavors that exuded health!

Must Try - Edit
Met a friend for some Mint Tea last night, lovely quaint little spot, reminds me of a cafe you would find in Europe. Brought some muffins home to try this morning, the Apricot was DELICIOUS. Can't wait to go back and try some more. Had a chance to visit with one of the owners and I just love their story. Delightful addition to our community ♡

A Gem in La Costa - Edit
There aren’t a ton of dedicated vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the La Costa area but Bigfoot is hands down the best and one of the best in the whole area. The food is delicious with interesting flavors and combinations. The bakery goods are to die for and the “smoodies” are excellent. If you want to put good, clean, tasty food in your body this is the place. As a real bonus the owners are the loveliest folks.
