Horrible food and this restaurant is NOT vegan friendly.

My friend ordered the pad Thai gluten free and it literally came with no sauce. Who the heck wants to eat sauceless noodles?? I mean if you can’t make your dishes gluten free without making them horrible and disgusting why bother. They should have at least told us they didn’t have gluten free soy sauce so we could order something else. Also found chicken in my tofu meal 🤢 My daughter’s boyfriend ordered the crab fried rice and it came without crabmeat. I rarely complain at restaurants but if we had eaten there instead of taking it home I would have refused to eat or pay for this meal that wasn’t worth the energy it took to walk it to the garbage can.

Big Thai, Big Disappointment

After reading the HC reviews my husband and I decided on Big Thai 2. Based on what we’d read I knew that the curries weren’t vegan, and I did confirm that. Someone had said that the Pad Thai was vegan so that was what I ordered. I verified with the waiter who said that the Pad Thai could be made vegan by leaving out the egg. I ordered it with extra vegetables. When the pad Thai arrived it was the wrong color and looked like it had no sauce on it at all. When I asked the waiter what was up with he said in order to make it vegan they had to use a different sauce. It tasted like a little bit of oil and a little bit of sugar and was really quite awful, not helped at all by the overcooked noodles and discolored vegetables that my husband thought might have come out of a can. We had ordered the basil rolls, which were good, and came with a plum sauce so I asked the waiter if we could have some more Plum sauce and gluten-free soy sauce and with the addition of both the meal was edible but it wasn’t worth taking home the leftovers. I wish I had read the soy sauce ingredients before ate it because it was not in fact gluten-free. I tried my husband's stir-fried vegetables and tofu in brown sauce and it was pretty tasteless, again not helped by the overcooked vegetables. He also added soy and plum sauces. Big Thai was a big disappointment. As we say in my family,” Save Your Money.”

Pros: Basil roll appetizer., Clean bathroom.

Cons: Few of the main courses are vegan., The food was very disappointing.

Vegan Options

Went to Big Thai 2 last night and was informed that the Pad Thai sauce does contain fish sauce and cannot be made vegan. However, I had Pad Zee Ew with tofu (no egg) and that was delicious and vegan! Overall a great restaurant with staff members informed about vegan options.

Excellent Dinner

Very calm decor. We had vegan pad Thai and pad woon sen, shrimp pad woon sen, and drunken noodles. The appetizers were great (spring rolls with fresh Thai basil!) The server was kind and very knowledgeable. And lots of yummy leftovers for tomorrow! I will definitely be returning for some red curry.

Tons of flavor, lots of choices!

All of the curries and the noodle sauces are vegan, so it's nice to have choices. The red curry with tofu and vegetables is fantastic, and the pad thai with tofu (no egg) is top notch. The atmosphere is nice, too - it doesn't feel like a take-out joint. Excellent place to sit down for a nice dinner.

Pros: Lots of vegan options., Reasonable prices.

Cons: Soups aren't veg-friendly. :(
