Serves meat, vegan options available. Hotel restaurant with one dedicated vegan dish (a risotto) and two others that can be converted. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-8:00pm.
Many listed vegetarian options could not be made vegan. Even the pasta had egg. The food wasn’t anything special, the garden burger seemed like a frozen grocery store patty and the soup tasted like canned soup. Small portions for a lot of money.
Also, I understand they were understaffed and a little busy with the marathon tomorrow, but it was 25 minutes before we even met our waitress who never checked in again.
I looked up menu ahead of my visit to find vegan dishes. Seeing the yellow curry tofu option was very exciting.
Unfortunately when I ordered that dinner, they let me know the yellow curry tofu dish is not vegetarian and it is made with fish sauce. I got the vegetable soup instead, which was delicious but locked that tofu protein I was hoping for.
Why on earth would you make a tofu dish that is not vegetarian? Overall just a bummer as Big Sur has limited vegan options besides just carbs.
In the morning, I had a very good soy milk latte from the café.
Okay vegan options. Unfortunately, seemingly the best around - Edit
The risotto is default vegan. One of the salads can be without cheese. And there's a Beyond Burger option too (be sure to ask for it without cheese). This area generally seemed lacking for options so this place was highly welcomed

Lunch options > dinner options - Edit
We stayed at the lodge and while being initially encouraged by options on the menu, found the only thing we could order was the veggie soup at dinner.
Read moreThe curry is made with fish paste, the bread bowls have dairy, and items are generally hard to modify.
