*NOW CLOSED* Awesome vegan junk food

*BIG MOOD IS NOW CLOSED FOR GOOD* It feels rare to find a fully vegan place that serves some real greasy stuff. Vegan cheesy fries and double beyond burger sandwiches. They also serve salads, but I can never get myself to get a salad with their burger options. They also have vegan chicken.

Great house made ingredients

We had a fantastic lunch here! We got the vegan chicken bacon ranch sandwich, the Big Mood burger with house made pink pea patty, a side of sour cream & chive waffle fries and a side of mac & cheese.
Everything was super satisfying, flavorful & really hit the spot. We didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day!
The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food.
The atmosphere is cute, eclectic and bright!

Definitely a thumbs up!

Pros: So many great options, Casual atmosphere , Awesome staff

Cons: None

Instagram > Food & Service

Please go back to being Root & Bloom, I’m begging you. The lack of quality control and staffing is unbearable. I feel as if the owner has began focusing on their social media presence more than the quality of their food.

Pros: All Vegan, Used to be delicious, Good portions

Cons: Expensive

Bad Mood, Bad Restaurant That Exploits Vegans

While they may make food for vegan and gluten free people, and it may taste pretty good, this is actually an extremely terrible restaurant. Here's why:

-They can't even be bothered to update their menu on google which has an old and incorrect one posted, so if you have found them ahead of time and come in with an idea of what you want to get you have already been set yourself up for disappointment. Very unprofessional.

-Their accommodations indoors are extremely limited, they haven't even set up tables indoors for 3 people, only 2, even though they seem to have the extra room. Instead parties of 3 or more are forced to go eat in the back on a super duper filthy deck that is infested with bees that they aren't doing anything about and make it impossible to enjoy your meal.

-The staff is not accommodating at all. I asked if I could bring in a bottle of water and they said no outside drinks, and they offered me their water which was dirty and had things floating in it. Even after my entire family ordered meals here and spent about $75 they didn't give us our food on plates, and only gave us one tray to share, I asked for two extra trays for the additional members of my party, and they only gave me 1, and the trays were disgustingly greasy!

-There is absolutely no service here. The name of the restaurant is ironic too because the staff seem to have a bad mood, so I guess the phrase big mood doesn't mean big good mood, but big bad one. They also do not generally even offer table service, except for a few people, which is completely unfair. Some people got their food brought out to them, but we had to go and get our huge meal ourselves which as I said was all packed onto one tray.

-They charge entirely too much for their food, the price does not match the quality, taste, size, service or atmosphere. I've already told you about the service and atmosphere being totally lackluster...now get this: You'll pay almost $20 for just about anything on the menu and get something that is not above par but rather below, is of a small portion which skimps on ingredients, and also comes with nothing. And if you are gluten free it will cost you an extra $3 for a gluten free bun! After paying that much for a burger, it does not come with a side salad or fries or anything like at any other restaurant. If you want fries you have to order them separately, and will have to pay more than $10 for a tiny little cup of them...and they don't even come with ketchup or anything to di

Cons: High price of small portions of low quality food, Lack of service and accomodations, Dirtyness

One of my favorite spots… in the whole country!

I stopped here on my trip across the country, and wow! What a treasure this place is! So many comfort food options. Their burgers are delicious - the milkshakes hit the spot too - but my favorite was the “honey” sauce on the fries - wowwww was that tasty!!! I loved the vibes of the backyard outdoor seating - perfect for weathering this pandemic.

Pros: Delicious food, lots to choose from, Friendly staff (that give great suggestions!), Wonderful outdoor seating, great vibes

All you need is Big Mood!

Went here 3x during my stay in Buffalo. If I lived closer I’d go every day. Really good milkshake and sundae options. They had a limited menu for the week so I was a little disappointed but hopefully the full menu will be back next time I’m in town.

Good comfort food

Tried a chik’n sandwich and the mac and cheese burger. There were no sides served with either sandwich but both were very filling and delicious! I would definitely go again next time I’m in the buffalo area!

Small dishes, big taste

The food was tasty, and I love supporting vegan businesses. I just wish there was more food on each plate because the portions were kid-size at gourmet dinner prices. The restaurant is café style where you order at the counter, pick it up and bring it to your own seat. There are no prices on the menu so you have to ask each time you are there. A small bowl of pasta was around $15, I would recommend 4-5 dishes per person for dinner if you would like to be full. Next visit, I would come here for a snack like a vegan milk shake or specific item instead of a whole meal.

Pros: All vegan , Tasty dishes

Cons: Expensive , Small dishes

Wicked Vegan

Stopped in from out of town late at night for a burger ( Mac & cheese w/ bacon ) and some fried pickles. Chose the pink pea house burger patty for the sandwich and it was great- very heavy and filling and tasty. The pickles were tiny inside their thick bread cocoons but were yummy. The dipping sauce was delish. Will go back for sure when back in town.

Pros: Big burgers, Super tasty, 100% vegan!!

Great Food, Place Looks Sweet

Big Mood has an awesome vibe. Looks so fun, retro, and happy. The food is delicious, from Buffalo-flavored entrees to creamy shakes. So glad I stopped here on my way through Buffalo.

Could fool the pickiest non-vegan

Great casual dining that feels like you're eating at a non-vegan restaurant and have no dietary restrictions! This is a great place to bring non-vegans if you want to be able to enjoy a meal together. From great burgers and fried "chicken" sandwiches to healthier options like salads and rice & chickpea bowls. I love the Good Mood Bowl. They also have a great patio (dog-friendly)!

Pros: Junk food, Ice cream & Milkshakes, Patio

A bit expensive but will go again

The tofu wings on the mac and cheese were amazing, although I felt like I could have made a similar quality mac at home. Non vegan bf approved! Get the latte. So so good!

Pros: All vegan, Pay and order at the counter

Cons: $$$, Stuffy, and non well ventilated from the fryer

Expensive

I had the macnchees entree and a slice of cake. That 15% tip was $29 .

Have you ever had a dish that was delicious but there was a too-strong, misplaced under-flavor that made you unable to finish? That's how the mac was. I'm not sure if it was too sweet or what. Also there was ginger in it?

Also there is def no wheelchair seating, and 75% of the chairs that are there are like 3lb wicker stools. Not for larger people.

Cons: Expensive

Indulgent Brunch

Cute bright atmosphere with a not too overwhelming menu. Counter service, seat yourself & food/ drinks delivered. Cafe was packed when we arrived at 1pm. Ordered the Birdie (Buffalo “chicken” sandwich w sweet potato fries & 2 dips) & Savannah (cornmeal Belgian waffle, greens, fried “chicken”) was delivered in about 15 min. Delicious, great textures. One star off for having to ask a few times for water & for table to be cleared. Staff very nice however.

Pros: Great and creative menu, Very tasty food

Cons: A bit pricey

Great Food! Nice Employees.

I had the vegan Mac and cheese (Eden in Buff) and it was significantly better than any vegan box Mac and cheese I’ve tried (ex. Daiya). The restaurant was cute and clean, and the employees were patient and made it a nice experience.

Nut allergy? Misleading.

We traveled from afar to eat here. Yay vegan place. Was excited by nut-free options advertised on menu. Got there and super bummed to learn there were 0 nut-free options. Wish they had been accurate that “there’s cashews in almost everything.” If u have a cashew allergy like me, don’t go. Otherwise the food looked beautiful..
