I really liked the veggie pad Thai here. Maybe not as good as in Bangkok, but the best I had in the Philippines so far 🫶🏻

Delicious curry with ocean views - Edit
Big Bad Thai is on the first and second floor of a beachside building. It’s a great place to eat and drink with a buddy, date, or group of friends.

We had the yellow, green, and massaman curries. They all had tofu options, which was also always cheaper than the ones with meat, which is always nice. The tofu tasted a bit of, but the curries were very good and the views are really good!

Was a nice little restaurant with rooftop views over the beach/port of El Nido. Food didn’t blow us away but was a nice change to have Thai flavours. We tried the red curry and the massaman curry. A shame that the massaman curry literally only had cubes of tofu and about 3-4 pieces of potato. Definitely had better massmans outside of Thailand.

I ate the Masaman curry and asked, if they cook it vegan. No cow milk to stretch the coconut milk, no fishsauce, no chicken powder.

A popular and busy thai place on two floors serving vegan spring rolls and curries with tofu (yellow/red/green/massaman). Had the massaman curry (not spicy) which was nice and nutty, also liked the tofu. The staff confirmed twice that there is no fish sauce in the curry.
Read moreThe place is in the middle of the busy center of El Nido and you can't reserve ahead unless you're a bigger group of people (I think min. 5). But waiting time isn't too long.

Ask also for cow's milk to stretch the sauce. In the other thai restaurant, thuk thuk thai, they put chicken powder in the curry. Never heard that before.... Always be critical and ask once more.

I ate fried rice with vegetables but it doesn't say on the menu that it come with eggs, so i got it and need to tell them to take it back and give me without eggs. They didn't make a deal about it. The food was delicious 😋 also has shakes and mango sticky rice

Tofu was rotten - Edit
Informed them politely that the tofu was rotten, told them everything else was good. They told me ‘it’s fine’. And made no gesture of good will.

Good food, and a really nice place with a view to the beach. They had an ok amount of vegan options and also tofu. One of the better restaurants in El Nino.

I ordered the veggie spring rolls and the green curry with vegetables and I requested to add tofu in it, which they were happy to add at a small additional price. Good service, big portions, nice location. I would recommend it
