Really deserve a visit, small place but great food - Edit
Honestly if this restaurant was in Tokyo he wont probably deserve 5 stars because the food is good but not exceptional. But considering the location, in miyajimaguchi then its absolutely exeptional to find such place. The food is good, portions are very good. They serve brown rice and this is really good. The ration quality/price is excellent. For all this reason i put 5 stars.

There's a good variety of dishes with reasonable portion sizes and prices, and they were all very good. The chai was superb (not too sweet which they often are for me) and the daily special cake was also great!

Best vegan food in Hiroshima - Edit
Amazing little vegan place near Hiroshima. Everything on the menu is vegan, and the portion sizes are perfect. Would definitely recommend if your vegan trying to find food in Hiroshima.

Read more1,110 yen from the station in an Uber. The food was great and the owner is lovely. We got the soy meat plate, gyoza and tempeh plate. We got banana smoothies and it was delicious as well!

Worth the Trip! - Edit
I saw this listing with no reviews and it puzzled me. There are few vegan joints in Hiroshima and so, on my daytrip to Miyajima I knew I had to go check this place out.
Read moreYou can walk (take the back streets through the neighborhood!), but I opted for a taxi (2500yen roundtrip to the station) after the long hikes on the island. Big Apple is a lovely little neighborhood cafe that opened this year with a Japanese owner that speaks decent English. Seats at least twelve people.
I had the dumplings and the daizumeatonokaragee (soymeat fried chicken type stuff). The dumplings were fantastic! Perfectly crispy on the bottom and nice and fluffy on top. As far as my experiences in Tokyo and Osaka go, the amount of dumplings you get for the price is the best I've had (and the quality is at least as good). The crispy soy dish was very yummy. Not too salty, very tasty and with lots of nice additions. Shredded greens, tomato slices, carrots, potato chunks, peppers, and a nice lump of rice. As a side note, the plating was great and the dish plate itself had a high quality ceramic character.
I finished off with the chocolate cake which was sublime! I had a very pleasant conversation with the owner and another patron even offered me a ride back to the station.
I know it may be a hike, but if you are with a couple people it is worth a taxi ride or a walk after visiting Miyajima (which doesn't have any vegan cafes itself, as far as I know... yet!). Hope to see more reviews here and all the best to you!
PS I'm not one to take pictures of my food, so that part slipped my mind. Some nice photos would really help the appeal! =)
