Favorite fast food chain in the DMV

They always hook you up with lots of food. Unlimited vegan toppings. I always get:
japchae, bean sprouts, black beans, broccoli, potatoes, tofu, carrots, cucumber, cabbage, kale, sesame seeds and yum yum sauce gochugang. Yum yum technically has milk in it but it's worth it.

Labeled menu!

Easy to figure out what you can eat. The teriyaki tofu bowl is vegan or you can make it yourself. Service is quick, and miso soup is free. Gluten free options too.

Classic chain

Quick, easy and you choose what goes one. The sauce choices are nice. If you have never been and need a quick and healthy option this is a great choice. They do serve meat and dairy products though.

Fast, easy and vegan friendly food

Any place that has unlimited veg toppings for fast casual make your own bowl dining is great for my appetite and budget.

You can choose different options for bases like rice, purple rice, japchae noodles and salad greens. They’re all good- pick what you like or mix a couple. My fav is the purple rice with salad greens.

Then you can choose all veggies or the tofu option, the latter being a little more expensive.

The tofu is cubed and sautéed to brown and crisp it up. It’s pretty tasty but tastes like it’s had some sugar added to it. I usually pass.

I like all the veggies. Moochae is a spicy radish that adds good flavor. They also have black beans, bean sprouts and potatoes. It’s weird to add black beans, but it’s one of the unlimited toppings, so I’ve tried it out. Not bad. I love the bean sprouts and potatoes.

Move on to other brighter choices like corn, cucumbers, carrots, red cabbage and kale- ummm, yes to all.

There are several dressings but I only go for sesame ginger, the others don’t interest me because they feel too heavy.

Their miso soup is also vegan.

They have kimchi and pineapple you can order as a side. Right now they also have coconut pudding that’s vegan.

Lots of choices here to make a great filing bowl! You can opt for a small bowl, too, or a side or two together for smaller appetites and budgets. The small bowl is still a full meal if you add plenty of toppings!

They do have a couple premium toppings that cost extra like avocado and mushrooms teriyaki style.

If you’re concerned for allergens, go to their website - it’s a comprehensive list. They even add onions/ garlic or allium as an allergen to list. Most everything you’d expect is vegan and gluten free.

Pros: Unlimited veg toppings, Purple rice, Allergen menu

Cons: Meat
