Lunchtime deals with soup, salad and main. Daily specials. Hosts music concerts with eg. mantras, bhajans, Latvian folk songs. Note that kitchen stops one hour before closing. Reported closed September 2022.

In my company of three, we decided to try the Bhajan Cafe in Riga's Art Nouveau district. What a pleasure. We had a knowledgeable and attentive server who seemed to care for us diners like a nice breeze. The menu was carefully crafted. We wanted to try each creative meal choice because every option was enticing. Really kudos to having the imagination and courage to put these wonderful food items together in such an enticing way. The delivery was amazing. We loved the food and felt replenished, alive, and inspired. Delicious! We three careful and intelligent eaters highly recommend this very skillfully crafted vegan dining restaurant. You won't regret it. There was even a small wedding party celebrating at the restaurant on our visit. The quality is so divine, I can totally understand why.

Extra bonus for travelers is that restaurant is located right next to the famous Alberta street known for its Art Nouveau architecture.

I had a burger and as desert a cake and the Bhajan coffe. Everything was awsome, very cheap for the size and quality you get, furthermore the atmosphere was nice and you feel like the staff enjoys working there in case I am coming ever back to Riga, I will definately go there again :-)

My last diner in Riga took place here and I wish I would have known this place earlier so I can come back for more! 😭 i had the chickpea cheeseburger (7.50€) which was damn good deal, what stands out was the cake(4€), speechless. No one would guess its vegan. Food for all taste (junk food, healthy, raw...) The waiter was nice and cute too. 👌🏻

Desserts are also fantastic. Special mention for the Napoleon and the Creme Brulée.
The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is friendly and attentive.
Located in a nice neighborhood, full of wonderful architecture. So, when visiting Riga, this is a must stop!

I stopped at Bhajan almost by mistake: the description here (should have checked the photos!) made me think this was another one of those Indian-style food places catering to veggies. Nothing wrong with that, but it was not what I was after... Boy, I was wrong!

Most importantly, the FOOD is AWESOME! And the prices very fair! I ordered the typical cold beetroot soup (borscht? I think it was 5 euros?) and before I was served that, I was brought complementary artisanal bread with a homemade dip. This is when I understood the presentation of everything was above average, and so are the flavours and textures!
I then ordered the burger (around 8 I think?), which came served in a stylish charcoal bun. The burger did not hold together well, but that is the nature of 99% of vegan burgers I had before, so no issue for me. Flavours were good, salt was appropriate, and it came with a tomato dip, chunky potatoes and a fresh, lovely 'mache' (what's the name of this herb in English?) salad. Very good!
I was too full for dessert but they have those too. I would have gone back to this place in a heartbeat, but I got sidetracked trying other places in Riga. This was MY FAVOURITE in town, though, so I would definitely recommend you go!
Pros: This place is all around great!, Great food, presentation and flavours, Very fair prices definitely leaning on cheap!
Cons: None at all!

Бхаджан Кафе в Риге стало для моего "маленького жорика" очень приятным гастрономическим открытием. Небольшое меню включало в себе такие блюда, от описания состава которых уже начинало внутри всё бурлить и требовать порции побольше!!

Фасоль в томатно-шоколадном соусе - это нечто потрясшее мои вкусовые привычки. Никогда бы не подумала, что такое сочетание может быть столько вкусным, сытным и запоминающе прекрасным!
Пирожное "Наполеон" до сих пор сниться мне в самых сладких снах. Нигде больше такого хрустящего и нежного Наполеона я не ела. Готова только за ним одним приезжать в Ригу (сама я из Санкт-Петербурга). Это любовь до вечности...))
Отдельная благодарность любезному, приветливому персоналу. В Бхаджан Кафе какая-то особая домашняя атмосфера, полная заботы, радости и ожидания чего-то чудесного. Всем искренне советую это место не только для наполнения своего внутреннего "жорика", но и для отдыха души и тела. Чувствуется, что сотрудники данного заведения любят свою работу и вкладывают эту любовь в каждую мелочь, которая создаёт в пространстве такую атмосферу, что хочется возвращаться сюда снова и снова... 💕😊💞

I’ve come here on my last two visits to Riga and all I’ve tried has been super tasty. The people working here are very nice too and the whole atmosphere is very cozy and calm. For me that’s a great change from work when coming here over lunch.

J'ai testé cet endroit un peu plus de 7 euros un plat de quinoa pas très garni avec quelques légumes en des dedans et une sauce a côté au basilic excellente. Le goût un peu fade sans la sauce mais avec terriblement bon.. J'ai eu un petit gâteau salé offert avant qui était tres bon c'est l'apéritif offert en fait A chaque commande de plat. Depuis j'ai goûté les épinards coco cajou 3.5e et du coup j'y vais presque tous les midis pour ce plat. Tout est healthy et pas de sauce lourde. Les gâteaux crus sont bons. Tout est vegan. Jadore le jus de tomate frais a 1e. Allez y les yeux fermés

Nice place and great vegan food. Have been there few times and their food have never failed myself or family. Provides appetizers and still water which I believe should have been a norm for a long time already. And the cakes are phenomenal!! X)
