Cozy cafe with vegan options - Edit
Really cute cafe with live music at night. Vegan chocolate mousse is to die for. Great place to stop and get drinks and/or dessert when walking around downtown Durham after dinner.
Pros: Ambience

vegetarian chef open to accomodating vegans - Edit
As of March 2016 the Chef (Destiny) is a vegetarian and open to working with vegans. She is a participating chef in the 2016 Bull City Vegan Challenge event and has created a 3-course meal including dessert. The challenge is only for one month (April 2016) but the hope is she will keep the items on the menu. There are other menu items that are vegan including a thai curry. One of the best things on the menu though is the vegan chocolate mousse! Soy milk is an option for lattes. Great place to see jazz and have a drink too.
Pros: vegetarian chef, great location downtown, chocolate mousse
Cons: limited options

Couple of great whole food vegan items on menu - Edit
We tried the Vegan Napoleon and Thai Vegetables with Green Curry Sauce, followed by the Vegan Chocolate Mouse. All outstanding/ inspiring and delicious!!! We may be back the next we are in Durham!
The Thai Veggies probably isn't Vegan though....The menu did not say it was and I suspect they used fish sauce in the curry. The curry is more of a soup/ stew and it is served in a bowl due to the liquid.
The Napoleon is a stack of grilled/carmelized sweet potato, apple on a bed of bok choi with a balsamic/ blackberry reduction and walnuts. It is incredible. Our only criticism is to add much more bok choi to dial down the sweetness of the dish and add a more savory element.
The dessert, the chocolate mouse, is a nice finish and the flavors dance in your mouth....chocolate, raspberry, coconut....
Overall, the atmosphere was pretty good. A bit cramped as tables are close enough to hear other parties and the hostess has to walk you behind the coffee bar through the service aisle to seat you in the dining room....kind of an odd layout. Of course this is mainly a coffee place with desserts in a case up front that look amazing so we felt lucky to have a dining room and some vegan/ vegetarian options that were so delicious!
Pros: Inspired menu, Healthy options, Friendly staff/ good service
Cons: Floor plan / table layout

Strongly recommended - Edit
I had the house salad, which was great: a wide variety of salad vegetables, all tasting really fresh, with a very light salad dressing. Delicious.
