We had the Buddha Bowl which was huuuge and so delicious and a Som Tam which was also very tasty. They Serve a vast variety of different food so Everbody will find something something.
Read moreThe owner was lovely and patiently explained everything to us. We also got to try some of their vegan homemade cheese and are already excited to try the ones we ordered for Pickup in two Days.
We will definitely eat there again or get something for Take away.
I can Totally recommend the place.
Edit: Pad Thai and Larb Hed were very tasty too.
Our Cheese we picked up is heaven (black Pepper, sundried tomato and roasted garlic and Gorgonzola)

We loved this place! Unfortunately I had a stomach bug the first night which wasnt the restaurants fault. The owner and the staff looked after me so well. My partner atr the salad anf pizza we had ordered and loved it!!
Read moreWe went back the next night and had the lasagne and meat feast pizza-both were amazing! The chocolate brownie is also divine, all the cheeses and fake meats are homemade and there are lots of GF options. The food is clean and soooo delicious. You have to go here even if you arent vegan because it's just sooo good! Hope we can come back one day 😀

The service and staff attitude really let this place down.
We arrived and we were the 1st people there. Greeted with less than enthusiastic welcome. The restaurant is located right on a busy road front and has not much ambience, apart from vehicle noise.
We then waited nearly one hour for food to come out, even though there was barely anyone there.
The most annoying part of it. They ran out of white wine after 2 glasses. Which happens, but really shouldn't and they need to plan and stock up better. We were offered another type of drink and we kindly said no and just waited for our food.
Then out of the blue, someone showed up (a Western person, who was presumably the owner), with a warm bottle of wine. Which a glass was poured and given to us. We said we didn't want warm, white wine. So it was reluctantly taken away. Then the bottle reappeared in ice and we again told them that we actually didn't want it. We had already said no and also it was Chardonnay, which we don't like. The person who brought the warm bottle acted all offended and stormed off with the bottle. Of which we didn't even ask for and didn't want. Very unprofessional customer service and attitude, which soured the whole experience.
The food came out an hour after sitting down and the pulled pork baguette had barely any filling and on stale bread.
The vegan chicken satay was tough and chewy. Potato salad had good flavour. Pizza was also reasonable, but most of the flavour was from dried oregano, that was poured all over it. For 1000 tbh (almost 50 AUD) for the food and 2 drinks, it wasn't worth it.
They have to have severs who actually smile and even show remote interest of you being there, supporting thier business. Also to have drinks available that they show on thier menu. Or at the very least, not give attitude for thier mistakes and shortfalls.

A treasure in Khao Lak! Super friendly, empathetic, the team welcomed our family with a three-year-old boy in the best possible way, making the environment pleasant for us and for him with great sympathy. In addition to bringing toys, crayons and paper, they were very loving with our little one. They also accommodated our special food requests for a 3 year old, bringing an amazing buddabow full of flavors and experiences. Very healthy and as the portion was huge, they wrapped it up for us to take to the hotel. As for the adult dishes, it was absolutely delicious, with lots of special local flavors. The menu is incredible, offers everything imaginable and makes you want to live close by to come back every day.

The nuggets are excellent, the cheese platter is a fun dish, I recommend adding garlic bread. The pumpkin soup is also good. And the lasagna is very nice. I was happy to find out that there is such a place in Khao Lak!

It was quite a surprise to find such an exceptional vegan restaurant in Khao Lak.
Read moreThe venue seating is mostly outdoors under cover and not far from the road side, so a little noisy, but we never found that to be an issue although this doesn’t make for a good ambiance.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, you can order in English. You may need to be patient for your order to arrive, so recommend to order in advance of arrival.
Food is very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity provided. Well presented and everything we tried was delicious.
The pizzas are rich, tasty and very generous size for the price. The Som Tam was very fresh and tasty, the Phad Thai also delicious and quite generous in size although we had to ask for beansprouts to be added. The chickpea stew was richly flavoursome. Noodle soup was lovely with a good variety of ingredients.
We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit to pick up a whole sugar free chocolate cake for just under 400 baht that was delicious, solid and covered in almonds and pumpkin seeds.
There are many innovative dishes and a huge selection of vegan “cheese”.
A couple of things could improve the experience, some food was a little too salty for my taste and the Laap seemed to be mainly onion and no mint.
Highly recommended.

My initial feeling was (im ocd about lighting btw) why the bright florescent lights inside? The mood would be improved so much with some warm orange lamps to create a cosy feeling. However when we sat at our table outside there were candles that created a comforting glow, I was still imagining the potential of the outside area with more tables and a sign that had more focused spotlights that didn’t reflect back to the seating area. To summarise the lighting, there are three areas,
1.inside - too bright, cold white fluorescent lights.
2.lower platform, closer to the road- too bright, reflection from spotlights.
3.middle area, where we were- cozy and beautiful with candles (so I was happy)
Location-
It’s close to a big road but we didn’t even notice it because the road isn’t busy.
It could be nice to have some more plants to create a enclosed sheltered feeling.
Interior Design-
Beautiful and fresh.
MENU:
Since 2008 (when I became vegan) I’ve never been anywhere with such an attractive menu. There are so many options yet the condensed simplicity of the layout on the big menu pages allowed me to easily take it all in.
The menu also has a whole page for home made vegan cheeses and I was amazed by how good they tasted!
THE FOOD:
The food is an epic example of what’s possible when people are motivated by passion.
The quality and taste of everything we ordered was absolutely amazing.
The prices are also very affordable too and this made us order even more than usual!
THE STAFF:
Very kind and welcoming and very willing to help my partner who ordered two dishes specially made for her as she doesn’t eat any salt / soya sauce.
SUMMARY:
Highly recommended! I’m feeling so thankful!

You really won’t go wrong here. The food is delicious and well priced. - Edit
The owner takes a lot of pride in the quality and flavours of the food. It’s not just vegan but healthy vegan. She uses mostly whole ingredients without refined sugars, using dates and raisins to sweeten things, great for diabetics. They have a good range of western and thai dishes. We tried many dishes and all were exceptional, just wish I had more days to try the whole menu.

I met the chef here. She is an holistic vegan chef, she cook as a pasión, she cook because she like to do it and this can taste in the food. You must try the Vegan cheese, can order and bring home to freeze, this is what I do, so I have at home when I need .

Look no further, you found a real treasure! There aren’t that many completely vegan options in this area but with the Beyond The Root you’ll be covered for your entire stay. I hey have everything, from western style to Thai, raw and gluten free vegan dishes and the food is incredible good! Plus, the owner is super friendly and forthcoming and vegan by heart.
