The food was excellent, the staff was rude. Despite the rude staff acting like they didn’t want us there, we enjoyed our food. The 5 spice dumplings were delicious. The spicy mango roll is a must get as is the spicy jackfruit crab. Chik’n yakitori skewers were excellent. The star was the chili noodles, by far the favorite. The vegan egg on top with the runny yolk was unreal.

The flavors were on point and every dish was amazing. I had the ginger beef dumplings, rainbow roll, and cashew cheesecake. Phenomenal! The cheesecake was purple which was weird but still delicious!!! Highly recommend when in Midtown Manhattan. Short walk to Times Square and Broadway.

this was one of the spots i was most excited for when coming to nyc. it certainly lived up to my expectations. i knew i wanted to go to a restaurant that had “yo egg” brand vegan egg so actually getting to try it and experience the melting yolk was wild. the chicken skewers actually tasted just like chicken and the dumplings were so good and the mushrooms inside were diced up so tiny. this is a spot i wouldn’t hesitate to go to again

The venue is small, as expected, but clean and nice. The food is topnotch, but not simple. If you are looking for simple vegan sushi, look elsewhere; they don't have it here. This is the home of the fancy sushi that might not appeal to all. Everything is vegan and upscale. Prices are Manhattan-expected.

This sushi joint far exceeded my expectations. The wonderfully flavorful spicy noodles had a vegan egg on top that I kept having to ask myself, “is this a real egg?” The gyoza were great, and the sushi rolls were all delicious. Small seating area, but we just took the food to go and ate picnic-style in Central Park. Highly recommend!

Tasty Vegan Sushi - Edit
The food was delicious, they had many options to choose from and most of them were also gluten-free. I 100% recommend this restaurant and would definitely go again to try more of the menu but keeping in mind the expense so it’s not somewhere that could be visited often. The skewers & sushi are good to have alone but even better when split with a companion so even more can be tasted. Also some of the sushi comes with only 3 pieces which wouldn’t satisfy an appetite so clarify with your waiter if you don’t intend to order more, luckily my waiter informed me so I ordered a more substantial option. Unfortunately the price doesn’t reflect only 3 pieces as it was similar to that of the dishes with more pieces.

Beautifully imagined and tasty sushi!! My boyfriend and I ordered 3 couple rolls (8 pieces) and a bowl. Cost around $66 US, which seemed pretty comparable to sushi places back home, maybe a little more expensive due to proximity to Times Square. Super amazing how they created vegan tuna, crab and caviar!! Portions were fine, though I might suggest ordering a bowl if you usually eat a lot and don’t want to spend a lot (the meatball bowl is SO GOOD!).

Tasty sushi, dumplings and more - Edit
The Chick’n Yakitori Skewers are a favorite. Lightly charred chick’n on a wooden skewer with ponzu glaze, lots of scallions and crushed peanuts, served with a side of chili marinated cucumbers. So many great flavors and textures to savor. The shiitake truffle mushroom dumplings, although lukewarm instead of hot, were still enjoyable. They were filled with shiitake, baked tofu, spinach and porcini mushrooms and topped with a spicy bean sauce and micro arugula. The Nutty Buddy Wrap was good and filled with soba noodles, avocado, carrots and tofu. I would have preferred dipping it in a peanut sauce.

Have to start with: we did takeout for lunch, which may have changed the whole experience. The sushi was amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. We also had the mushroom dumplings, which were good, and the chik’n bao, which was okay. It was a solid meal, just didn’t blow my mind particularly- except for the sushi. I have no idea how they do vegan salmon like that, it’s awesome!

Delicious! But watch out for spicyness - Edit
The shiitake dumplings are to die for. But if you don't like spicy ask for the hot sauce on the side instead of on the dumplings. Also watch out for the other dishes, the crab sushi is a bit spicy too, ask about it, it's not indicated. Staff very friendly.

Read moreI was/am a big fan of their brown rice veggie rolls, yet disappointingly, the selection has shrunk to just three options from what used to be an extensive list. The ‘mighty mushroom’ roll, in particular, is a favorite of mine and thankfully still making an appearance among the sparse choices remaining.
