Beyond Happiness - Edit
I was so happy to find this place right infront of where I was shooting for a project. I was worried to go hungry but I ended up making it my de-stressing nook while I wait for the team to prep the models. Good experience. Mostly vegetarian choices but the staff were so happy to make it vegan.

poor attitude towards vegans and customers in general - Edit
super weird experience. food was okey but super greasy. the staff treated us super weird? i don’t know how to describe it. i never had an experience like that. but they gave me the feeling, that they don’t want us there. i am pretty sure my vegan food was not vegan. but i read the reviews and still went there. :D

Misleading allergen/animal products in Vegan food - Edit
When we arrived we had a look at the menu and we weren't 100% sure what was vegan. As it's a plant based veggie/vegan restaurant you'd think the staff would know what is okay to eat. We actually saw a review a week ago on Google with someone who had a severe dairy allergic reaction to food which was meant to be vegan.
Read moreSo as a result we asked very carefully which was vegan and what didn't have dairy as we are both lactose intolerant. We even showed the server the review from Google which mentioned an issue with the soy milk. We picked the karage ramen and tofu parmesian pasta, after I confirmed that there would be no cheese, milk or egg in any of it. We even picked dishes that avoided the soy milk.
But when the ramen came, there were these white creamy toppings on the surface. I asked what they were and a different server from the one who took our order said it was vegan soy aioli. I confirmed again, no milk no egg, he said yes all fine. I tasted a bit of it and it didn't taste right to me. After a few spoonfuls of this ramen I couldn't continue to eat it as I had a feeling something was off about it.
I asked the staff at the counter, what is in the aioli, is it soy milk and can I see the bottle because we are both vegan and allergic. The kitchen staff and waiters hear me and start talking among themselves, almost ignoring me for a minute or 2 while I'm trying to ask just to see the bottle.
Finally the head chef(?) on duty shows me the bottle of milk, it's a brand called vitamilk, he says it's just soy milk but on the ingredients listed it has milk powder inside. I show him and say that it's not okay to be serving this to vegans or ppl with allergies. Everyone, kitchen and staff are acting pretty nonchalant about it and just say they will make a new one.
To be honest I didn't eat so much of it as I couldn't really enjoy, worrying about other cross contamination or misleading ingredients inside.
We paid and spoke to them about it. They were apologetic after they saw how angry we were but I honestly feel they didn't really understand how serious it is to know what's being served.
Aside from all that the food wasn't particularly nice and the pasta was super sweet.
Advise vegans to go elsewhere (The Green Chef was good)

We had read the review below and were already vary of them not using a fully vegan soy milk.
The ramen came with some sort lf aoli on top - we asked what it was, they said it is made from soy milk.
We asked to see the soy milk they used, surely enough the 4th ingridient is MILK POWDER.
I cannot believe that they are serving non vegan food to vegans. Not to mention people with allergies, like the person who reviewed below me.
The staff said 'it's only a little bit milk' implying they don't understand the concept of veganism or allergies. Staff were not apologetic. We have been vegans for 10 years and we feel sick that we've eaten milk.
Do not recommend this place. You will think you are getting vegan food but you wil not. I have added a picture of the soy milk they use, it contains milk powder. I have asked them to change their soy milk to a vegan one, please if you go, make sure the soy milk is vegan. They also use this soy milk for making aioli and other creams to go in other dishes, so you can never be sure if a dish is vegan.
Cons: They say the siy milk is vegan but it is not, False advertising, Allergies not taken seriously

Fresh and tasty even tho I had definitelly better smoothie bowl as its better if its made from frozen, more like sorbet. Ramen was a bit salty for me. Good fried tempeh with a bit of vegan cheese on top. Egg was good even tho I usually don't eat eggs.

Read moreMy travel partners and I got stuck during a layover ferry-hopping from Moalboal to Siquijor. Had no idea Dumaguete would have better veg food than Cebu and most of Manila.
Only a short Tuk Tuk ride from the ferry terminal, Beyond has a robust vegetarian menu and a few decent vegan options. The burger was flavorful and the wings were amazing. The passion fruit drink was too sweet but still refreshing after standing in the sun.
