Cute Japanese curry

Nice to have two clearly labeled vegan options, as well as plenty of toppings to add. One of them is a protein option - good old natto!

Since I hate spiciness I chose level 1 and it was just enough for me. They have 20 spice levels which is crazy.

The vegan one already comes with all vegetables, but only one of each. You can add more. I would say that the broccoli, pumpkin and mushrooms were my favorites.

Overall, The taste is nice but pretty sweet. Even compared to other Japanese curries I've tried and even without taking the coconut base. Sweetness does not go well with the vegetables...
Maybe it's because I chose spiciness 1? Well, it still was a bit spicy, just lacking salt. Overall it reminded me of coco ichibanya's vegetarian soup curry that they had at winter. Which is fine, but I didn't find a good reason to return.

A perfect meal

Staff were really helpful, use google translates photo feature to translate the menu. Food was delicious, just what was needed after a full day of exploring. Very large portions, and affordable.

Delightful curry

They offer a clearly labelled vegan option, which I enjoyed very very much.
One of the best curries I had so far I'd say.

Very good, just lacking protein

Two weeks in Japan and this was one of the tastiest dishes I had. Ticks every box except the protein. Highly recommend the coconut curry.

Would be a 5/5 if they had tofu or something.

Decent soup curry, two vegan options

I'm glad this place exists - soup curry is such a local speciality so it's a crime that there aren't more vegan options in Sapporo. Beyond age does cater to vegans and the options aren't bad. I will say it's just a little sweet for my palette and the music is way too abrasive and loud. But it's worth going as it's close to other places in Sapporo so it's a bit easier to get to over other soup curry places. Some staff also seem to not really speak Japanese or English.

Pros: Convenient location, Two options of soup curry

Cons: Bit sweet , Loud, bad music, Communication issues with staff

Phenomenal!!

I had the vegetable and mushroom curry with the vegan coconut broth. The curry and spices were AMAZING. Highly recommend. There are 2 vegan broth options and you can customize your curry however you want. It's great to have mlre than one choice. It's also highly rated on Tabélog, so also much enjoyed by local Japanese people and you know its not just a place only tourists go.

A sapporo speciality worth the trip 5 of 5

Wish it was possible to give 5 stars reviews to all restaurants even if they are not fully vegan- food was awesome. Recommend the mitake mushrooms as an extra topping, and peach iced tea as a drink.

We went during lunch time, no queue so you can easily save time by going here compared to waiting in line nearer the city centre.
Staff gave us an english menu. There are two fully vegan bases and you can customise everything of toppings.

(Forgot to take pictures of the english menu so translated it with google lens after)

One of the best meals of my life!

There are 2 clearly labeled vegan options: regular and coconut. I had the regular vegan at a 7 spice level. It was absolutely incredible and inexpensive. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and the staff was super nice. There were like 12 different types of vegetables in it and the turmeric rice is great. 7 was a little spicy, but I could have gone spicier. The best soup curry spot I’ve been to in Sapporo!

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options, Delicious!, Cheap

Amazing soup curry!

There were 2 options of vegan soup curry. I got the vegan rich variety, as opposed to the coconut variety. I added lotus root to it. It comes full of vegetables, an incredibly rich and delicious curry, and a side of turmeric rice to eat with it. I can’t even describe how delicious this meal was! If you’re in Sapporo, it’s definitely worth the time to go eat here! The staff was super friendly and happy!

Had to try the curry soup!

I was told to eat curry soup if I was in Sapporo, so of course I had to! Immediately when we walked in they asked if we were there for vegan curry. I think happy cow is helping keep this place busy 😅

Two types of vegan curry soup: coconut vegan curry and vegan curry. We got both of them at spice level 6, which was perfect but ymmv. We also got extra toppings, note that it already comes with the veggie toppings (mushrooms, 1 taro root, etc.) and so if you order toppings you'll have a pretty large meal.

I personally preferred the vegan curry over the coconut since I didn't want the strong coconut flavor, but it was the opposite for my husband.

It's not too far from Nakajima park and definitely worth the visit.

Vegan soup curry

The restaurant has vegan option as vegan soup base. I ordered vegan coconut base for 5level spicy, I guess normal vegan soup is more close to legit soup curry. A bit far from the train station but absolutely worth to visit!

Yum!

I’ve never had a soup curry before so I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this soup curry restaurant that carries vegan options! You have the option of a vegan soup base or a vegan coconut milk soup base. I opted for a spice level of 3 and it was quite delicious! There was a nice kick to it but nothing too crazy. The owner was super nice and friendly! Despite it being a little bit out of the center of town, it’s definitely still worth the trip if you want some delicious soup curry! 😋

Pros: Super friendly owner , Two vegan soup curry options , Vegan friendly toppings

Amazing, worth the trip

The restaurant was a bit out of the way but totally worth the trip. I've never had anything like this. The vegan broth was so rich and the veggies, cooked separately, retained their own strong flavors. The coconut lassi is also vegan. You can determine the spiciness level of the soup curry and if you go above 5 the lassi could come in handy to help temper the heat:).

Easily one of my top 10 curries ever

What kind of sorcery is this, how can a simple vegetable curry taste this good? One of the best curries I had in my life. Also a lot of vegetables (unlike most dishes I had in Japan so far) so that was nice. No tofu / plant protein though.
Parts of the menu were only in Japanese so we used Google lens to figure out extra toppings, Staff speak very little english but were really welcoming and we managed to communicate, get the vegetable curry with either the vegan or coconut vegan soup base. We got extra pumpkin and the three mushrooms, yum!

Pros: Beyond delicious, Big portions with lots of veggies , Nice staff

Cons: Only some of the menu in english

vegetable curry

It’s a Japanese curry 🍛 restaurant 🍴, and the owner warmly greeted me. The spice level here can be adjusted from not spicy to spicy enough to separate the brain from the body. I chose a spicy level of 2 degrees, which was just right. The vegetable curry includes shredded burdock and is served with white rice (probably mixed with turmeric), which is very tasty!

Phenomenal soup surry

I didn't think it would it would be possible that my favourite meal during a three week trip to Japan would be at a place that also serves meat. Much less even in a country like Japan where cross-contamination is a constant issue and the language barrier to explain this makes things extra-difficult. But it happened.

The woman (owner?) didn't speak amazing English, but well enough, and there was absolutely no communication issue as soon as she heard the word "vegan". There was no ambiguity whatsoever about what was vegan and what wasn't. Like most Japanese, she was also kind and very helpful. The food was incredibly flavourful and spicy (for those who want it that way) and it was the perfect, hearty, filling meal for a cold evening in April. Another bonus is that you get to try the vegan version of a hokkaido classic dish for great value for money.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way, but still easily reachable by metro via Horohirabashi Station or a longer walk from the centre through Nakajima Park. And it's absolutely worth the trip.

Pros: hearty, value for money, friendly staff

Cons: location not ideal

Cons: vegan broth supplies may be limited

Amazing soup curry

Never tried soup curry before, but was so pleasantly surprised. Seriously loved it. Only one vegan soup curry base but I think they did a great job with it. If I had more days in Sapporo, I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Pros: Delicious!!!, Nice staff

Cons: Only the one vegan soup curry base

This was the tastiest vegan food we could find in Sapporo. Tried both the vegan soup and the vegan coconut soup with the mixed veggies and a spice level of 4. Totally enjoyable and satisfying! Highly recommended😄

Delicious curry - worth the trip!

A very delicious and filling curry only a few subway stations away from Sapporo staton - worth the trip! Ordering is a 5 step process and the menu demonstrates this in English. The vegetable curry without the egg is vegan. Add the vegan soup, rice and toppings then pick a level of spice. I found the vegetable servings to be generous. The restaurant is well signed, you can’t miss it!

Pros: Large bowl - super filling!, Range of vegan toppings, Affordable
