Vegan labeld food not vegan!

Allthough they clearly label some dishes on the menu as vegan, most of them are not vegan. We had the pea soup which had lots of cream in it, the butternut and bean salad which had feta cheese, the mushroom pasta which had a heavy cream sauce and cheese and the mushroom stew with heavy and creamy mashed potatos (which they clearly marked as non-dairy). I‘ve been vegan for almost 10 years and I can feel the difference. Since the pea soup has lots of peanut butter in it, I was not sure in the beginnig and ate it all. It made my stomach really sick. Definitely not recommend this place for vegans. I told the staff, they seemed to be aware of the fact, that they put dairy products in the food. Hopefully they will remove the vegan-label in the menu.

Cons: Vegan labeled food is not vegan

Good choices, great staff

Beautiful and cosy restaurant. The interior is amazing with wallpaper made of old book pages and a big cabinet filled with antiques. It's the only restaurant we could find that has vegan options labelled on their menu on Maboneng. We had the curry and bourguignon with mashed potato. It was very tasty and filling. Though the curry could have been served a bit nicer with some poppadums or chutney on the side.
The staff if really friendly and helpful.

Pros: Only place labelling vegan food

Cons: Serves meat dishes too
