Extremely Well Executed - Edit
I go to Berben and Wolf probably twice a week, sometimes more. I've never had a bad meal. The staff is always excellent. You never have to wait long for your food. These folks are pros.
Read moreThe Rueben is excellent and from what I hear it's their most request sandwich. If you like dijon, the Cubano is excellent. You'll probably have the best setian philly cheese steak of your life here, featuring thinly sliced seitan, house made cheese sauce and crunchy roll. Don't worry, they have gluten free options as well.
There's a 'grab and go' case featuring a changing cast of salads and deserts. If you're there on a day when they have the buffalo chicken mac and cheese consider yourself very lucky. For desert, the chai cake and pineapple upside cake are totally perfect.
Pros: Good Food, Great Staff

Just Ok - Edit
I'll go back again at some point and try some other items, but I was really unimpressed with the "Big Max" the burger patty texture was odd and had a really strange aftertaste.

This place is basically a MUST if you are in town. - Edit
Loved this place - extremely hearty sandwiches that are creative and delicious. The seitan in the reuben is homemade and spectacular, spiced like what I used to eat as a kid, shaved slices overly stuffed into the sandwich. The popcorn mushroom po boy is sensational, the corn batter around the mushrooms is light and crispy and we absolutely loved the sandwich, authentic flavor, never had anything like this (vegan) before... ever. Friendly service, not a long wait for the food, cool atmosphere, found parking easily on the street. A really great place and looking forward to checking out the sister restaurant in Troy that also has appetizers.

Terrific vegan deli in downtown Albany - Edit
Vegan-friendly deli located on a very hip street in downtown Albany. Ordered takeout for dinner. I had the popcorn mushroom po'boy and garlic parm wings. The po'boy was *fabulous*. The roll was fresh. The oyster mushrooms were fried to perfection. Terrific sandwich. The wings were a tad too oily and didn't have a great texture. I get it... it's not supposed to have the same mouth feel as a chicken wing.
Read moreMy wife ordered the reuben. I had a little taste of the seitan pastrami. Yum. My daughter ordered the BLT w/tempeh. She didn't care for the dressing that came w/her side salad, but she did like the ranch dressing that came with the wings.
I would *definitely* go back on my next trip to the Albany area.
Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff

Awesome sandwiches - Edit
Everything here is delicious, based on the four menu items I’ve had. You can’t go wrong here if you’re in the mood for a burger or a sandwich. Food’s ready quickly and it’s extremely satisfying. There’s also a nice little recycled clothing store right next door, and an organic food market a few doors down. Check it all out if you’re vegan and in the area!
Read morePros: Delicious food, Great variety of sandwiches, Not too expensive ($9-$13 per person)
Cons: No fries on the menu?? I need a side of fries!

Go now, go often - Edit
This place is phenomenal- my only “beef” with it is that I live three hours away. Both locations are consistently delicious. I ALWAYS got the wing burger, until I tried the BBQutioner and now I’m stuck on that (plus allll the sides, especially those mozz sticks at the Troy location). You can’t go wrong no matter what you choose.

Fun, Edgy and Delicious - Edit
Great sandwiches, the Rueben and the Wingburgers (a slab of seitan either buffaloed or bbq’d) are my faves. Sandwiches come with chips or side salad. Funky, retro vibe and great music.

All Vegan so delic - Edit
We came through Albany and were so pleased at the vegan options. Being on the road we were sooo hangry and loved their menu. I had a special BLT with soup, the PoBoy, and their burger. Just delicious and so filling. Their desserts were also amazing. I was soo happy to have a pumpkin chocolate chip whoopie pie. I haven’t had one since becoming vegan and it was such a treat. Wish this place was where we live!

Fantastic food you'll crave later! - Edit
I went here for my birthday and it was the BEST. My family tried everyone else's food, so I got to try the Cubano Panini, the Big Max, and the Sunflower Burger. All was absolutely delicious, and I wanted to down everything. Damn my small stomach. I also had the Iced Lemon Cake, brownie, and Who-stess Cupcake for dessert, all gluten free yet moist and fantastic. Highly recommend this resteraunt.

Went there in 2017. The flavours weren't quite there and it felt greasy af, but I guess this second point is an objective of the restaurant :).

Less deli than sandwich shop, this little place is an absolute gem. Everything is vegan, and they have many gluten-free items. They even let you bring a dog inside!

Fun vegan deli - Edit
They have a nice variety of vegan meats, all made in-house. I got the Philly Cheesesteak, Mac and cheese and my friend got the Chik’n wing burger. The burger was delicious and I regret not ordering that! Wasn’t a big fan of the Mac and cheese (too oily!).

Dirty! - Edit
Based on the reviews here, I was SO EXCITED to eat something from an all vegan deli! Firstly, their entrance isn’t very clear. They have a sign hanging from the building but I wasn’t sure which stairway to go up. Once I entered the building, I saw a flight of stairs up and a random door to the left. They’re in that random door. Not easy to access! And not accessible for someone who can’t climb stairs. But walking in, the whole place just doesn’t look clean. I realize downtown is old and the buildings are crumbling, but given the fact this is a food establishment, if it should be anything it should be CLEAN. Disappointed, I left empty-handed. It might be clean, but it doesn’t look clean. And for that reason, I didn’t feel comfortable buying their food. I’m from Manhattan, one of the grossest, polluted cities in the world and even their vegan food establishments appear cleaner than this one.

Delicious Dineresque food - Edit
The food I had here when we stopped was incredible. Their big max is unbelievably identical to a real Big Mac. They also had a chicken parm sub on special the day I stopped in & that was out of this world delicious. We also grabbed an apple bar & some buffalo chicken dip from their cold case, both of those were phenomenal.

Nice deli with faux meats - Edit
Friendly deli type place offering counter service sandwiches, subs, burritos, and the like. Very bready and faux meat type of place, not health oriented. A bunch of their food is made from store-bought processed fake meats. Relaxed atmosphere.
