Used to be great… - Edit
Changing my review as the recent news are quite devastating. It makes no sense to me to want to serve all people being not being vegan no more? Everyone can eat vegan *rolling eyes*
Read moreWe came here again this Saturday as we were craving some buns, only to find the store closed with no explanation, so we were quite disappointed. After a little bit of research we were met with more disappointment😡

Questionable practices - Edit
UPDATE: Business began selling chorizo and other savoury buns ending its time as a Vegan bakery. To make matters worse, the owner blocked all the loyal customers who either asked or commented about this change online. This business has bad energy.

Overpriced and no longer vegan - Edit
I was very happy to pay over the odds at Benji’s to support an independent vegan business, but now they have gone back on their principles I now go elsewhere to get my coffee. I was particularly irritated that they claim they stopped being vegan ‘to cater for everyone’. Ummmm….everyone can eat vegan food, people.

They put profits before animal welfare. Awful business.

Not vegan anymore - Edit
Used to be a really nice, all vegan cinnamon bun place, now isn’t all vegan. Really disappointing as I used to love this place but don’t go anymore.

Pretended to be vegan - Edit
The owner pretended to be vegan in order to gain support from the community, then decided to start serving animal flesh.

‘No longer vegan’, never vegan - Edit
Added again because happy cow removed my reciew
Read moreClearly a marketing strategy to launch a plant based business, but it was obviously never actually a ‘vegan’ business with the animals as first priority behind it.
It’s a shame to see a business go so backwards and we just need to remember why we are vegan: to avoid animal exploitation.
I support both vegan and non-vegan businesses, but when a business makes this kind of decision, it is really difficult for me to continue to support it.
The buns are also very overpriced.

Ex-vegan business - Edit
My previous review seems to have disappeared but no worries, happy to review again to hopefully inform other vegans that actually care about ethical consistency.😄
Read moreThis place built a business by marketing themselves to vegans, then suddenly stopped being vegan without informing their customers. Blocked and deleted people asking questions on Instagram, people who once supported the business and wanted to see it do well! Really poor customer relations, clearly trying to pretend they never marketed themselves on veganism. Sad to see our patronage was a dietary market trend to capitalise on, rather than the business owner genuinely caring about making quality food without animal products. The buns themselves were lovely in the earlier stages of the business, but quality definitely dropped in recent months and they began to be dry and unpleasant especially for the price.
Recommend checking out Revival Café or Parle Pantry instead for some genuinely good vegan pastries in the area.

I’m outraged too! Thanks for sharing about Revival Café, I didn’t know this place, I’ll check it out.

It's so disappointing isn't it? And then to treat the loyal vegan customers like that. 😔 hope you enjoy Revival, they have an amazing range!

No longer a vegan business - Edit
After starting as a vegan business, they just announced that they will start serving meat, because (and I quote): “we are catering for all customers”. This is so disappointing. Won’t buy from them anymore.

Fantastic vegan chocolate bun - Edit
This is a small vegan bun shop, selling a mix of different kinds of buns, and milkshakes. I had a chocolate bun - it was so great, soft and exactly how a bun should be. Would never guess it was vegan. It was big - I finished it all but was quite full afterwards so it could easily be shared between two! (Would be great if they could offer mini versions.) My friends had biscoff milkshakes (made with oatmilk) which were also yum.
Read moreThere is seating indoors for 6 people and some outdoor seating, so the description here should be updated.
I give this 4 stars rather than 5 because the bun was GBP4 which is a little pricy for one bun, and because one of the shop staff was talking on their phone on loudspeaker non stop which I don’t think they should do when they have customers.

The buns were tasty and we enjoyed it. The coffee however was quite bad. Recommend if you like a sweet dessert (was quite heavy).

A friend surprised me with a cinnamon bun that he carried all the way across London by bike. Not only did it survive the trip, but kept its fluffy texture and amazing taste for the next morning.

Delicious and hefty buns! - Edit
This is a cute little shop with a range of around six different cinnamon buns with different toppings and flavours. Me and my partner got a box of 3 to share – Oreo (limited edition), Biscoff and Banoffee. We did pay £13 for the three of them but they're huge! We didn't eat them all at once and I think one between two people is enough as they are sweet and big.
Read moreWe really enjoyed all three of them. The flavours were different for each one, and not just the toppings but the actual flavour of the buns themselves.
They were all just really delicious and I would definitely recommend them!
The staff in the shop were also really lovely, including the guy who created the shop (I'm assuming his name is Benji!) and it just seems like a really great little vegan business with a high quality product.
Pros: Delicious cinnamon buns, Big buns, Friendly staff

Vastly Overpriced - Edit
One of my biggest bugbears is the way that retailers mark up the prices they charge for vegan foods. I'm afraid that here is a perfect illustration of just that, over £3.50 a single bun really is unacceptable and its not as if the buns are anything special. While its great to have a completely vegan bakery in Ealing I don't anticipate it lasting while they continue to charge these inflated prices.
