This slightly hidden place has a lot of vegetarian options and a few vegan options, the prices are fair especially considering the touristic life of Sintra.

Sintra is not very vegan friendly but Bengal Tandoori offers some options. Nothing incredible but tasty and filling. 12€ deal with drinks.

Definitely a good option for vegan food. Lots of labeled vegan dishes. We went there twice actually, because we stayed in sintra for 5 days. We felt like this was one of the better options to eat vegan. We had the chana massala (was not vegan, but they made it so), karahi chana, dahl soup, onion bhaji, samosa. They did not dissapoint. They let you choose spicyness on a scale from 1 to 10 and it was pretty accurate, I must say. Waiter was kind of friendly.

We booked a table mid week for my birthday meal in Sintra, only a few steps from our apartment it was very handy.
Read moreAs always we ordered too much food but it was all delicious! We took back leftovers for lunch the next day.

Appreciated the vegan label on vegetarian menu page. We got aloo gobi and chana dish plus rice and a vegan paratha bread. Server understood vegan. Flavor was really good and portions were plentiful. Happy with the food and service.

Sintra might not be known for their vegan food, but Bengal Tandoori has many options to enjoy! We were lucky enough to stay right next door so finding it was no option, but it is tucked one street off the main downtown area. Lovely wait staff to chat with and really good vegan Indian food (on par with most high quality Indian restaurants).

Great options for vegans. 4 or 5 curries and entrees like onion bhajia and samosas. The best was aloo chana with roti. It is a big off the main road by lovely outdoor seating. The waiter marked the vegan options in the menu

While choosing from the indian menu the staff helped us, even without us asking beforehand if we were vegan or not, with sorting out the vegan from the non vegan dishes. Extremely helpful and kind. We had such a wonderful experience which made the food taste even better than it already was!

The waiter recommended to us lentils with curry and rice and it worth a lot!! It's not so spicy but very tasty! The restaurant is a little hidden, in a small lane passing through the right side of a big blue building.

Read moreThe prices are around €9 for a main. Also the wine was marked as vegan on the bottle which is great. The food was OK and the portions are really large . Sadly the waiter told us the naan bread is not vegan.

Went here tonight as we’ve lately struggled to find some good vegetarian/vegan options. They have an entire page of vegetarian options, plus naan, rice, salads and so on. They also offer 3-4 veggie pizzas and some Italian pastas too.

Our server was sooo kind, he spoke to us about his family that live in the UK and his life in India.
I recommend especially if like me you’ve been struggling to find veggie food
