Blown away back of house by customer service

Not only did they have a few delicious vegan options but the kitchen went out of their way to make us a vegan carat cake for a big birthday celebration that we had there. He also made a specialty allergen free dessert for my friend who is allergic to everything. Wonderful kitchen staff.

Kalamazoo’s most famous Brewery

Bell Brewery is the physical extension of a Michigan institution. The annual selling of their most famous drink, Oberon, has become a Michigan tradition.

As far as the brewery goes, it is a more rustic experience than many newer breweries in the area. And that leads to more charm for the establishment. The restaurant is two stories of wooded banisters and eclectic pieces.

There are a few vegan options at the brewery, which is nice. Its a good spot to meet with a group and know that you have a plant-based choice. The options themselves are okay. It’s really all about the beer here. The food is secondary.

And the beer is a real selling point. To experience Michigan, you have to try an Oberon in the summer. It’s a rite of passage.

Pros: Some vegan options, Oberon, Rustic ambiance

Cons: Not entirely vegan, Food options are okay

Not a lot of options

Great local place if your out and about going to different bars. The food is good and interesting, but the options are limited. Check the menu online before going as the menu changes often. (falafel was great!)

Great drinks and burger

My husband and I come here a lot when in Kalamazoo. We get the black bean burger on whatever bread they have at the time that’s vegan. The fries are also delicious. And the hummus appetizer.

Pros: Good drinks , Good food

Cons: Could have more options , Waiters aren’t always vegan educated

Veggie Options

They have multiple vegetarian friendly options. You can easily adjust menu options to vegan. They have Jackfruit tacos (spicy) as their April veggie friendly option of the month. 👍👍

Pros: Multiple vegetarian options

Fun, friendly, and accomodating

I went here for a "family dinner" party with my class of 2020 Musical Theatre Performance BFA class, and being the only vegan in the group I was nervous about whether or not I'd be able to find anything to eat other than fries and salad. Bell's had TONS of vegan options (I had the hummus and tabouleh wrap) and they even let you sub in tofu or tempeh to any of their handheld sandwiches! The day I went they also had a vegan Thai soup as their soup of the day! I would definitely go back, the staff was very friendly to our large group and knew what all was vegan/could be made vegan.

Pros: easy to veganize, friendly/helpful staff, alcohol

Cons: crowded, might need a reservation
