The best resturant i Norway! - Edit
If You’re in Stavanger and manage to get a table at Bellies, consider yourself the luckyiest foodie alive! No matter what time a year you visit, the food will always be local, vegan and AMAZING! Grormet dishes at a fair price.

Hemels - Edit

9 platters and 3 desserts over a span of 3 hours that’ll leave your tastebuds in both awe and confusion. Highly recommend trying.

Incredible experience for a special occasion - Edit
We visited Bellies back in August but I'm only just remembering to write a review.
Read moreAnybody who has visited Norway will know how expensive it is to eat out. We usually stay with family or friends when visiting Norway, but sadly we don't have either of those in Stavanger. We decided on our last night we would treat ourselves to Bellies. This is vegan cuisine at its highest level, and whilst it's not actually Michelin-starred, the restaurant does appear in the Michelin Guide.
What an experience! An incredible tasting menu in a chilled and uncrowded space. You have to book in for a time slot - there are two 2.5-hour sittings. We also had the matching wine pairings which we wouldn't do again, because (a) it makes the meal double the price as the wine cost is almost as much as the nine courses, and (b) we were slightly disappointed - as primarily red wine drinkers - that we were only served whites and rosés.
However the food was incredible and the wine pairings were excellent, with wines from boutique producers we were unfamiliar with.
At Bellies you are likely to sample food that you've never had before, for example turnip discs & wedges with delicate rye crisps, charred baby leek and fermented lemon. The panko-coated oyster mushroom with horseradish cream and a crispy celery cup with micro-herbs was the standout dish for me, served on a miniature Japanese moss garden.
Service was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.
Bellies is eye-wateringly expensive for non-Norwegians, but well worth the expense for a special occasion.
Pros: Vegan food at its highest, finest level, Locally sourced produce used in inventive ways, Fantastic atmosphere
Cons: Expensive for non-Norwegians particularly, Wish the wine pairing had included reds

Dish after dish after dish with exciting new food and new tastes. It truly felt like a journey going though all the perfectly served dishes we got. The meal was served over several hours, so dont come to hungry! (2022)

Artistic food and great service - Edit
This is a high-end exquisite restaurant which I never used to visit, because they are never vegan. Except for this one, finally! Also, the athmosfere is laid back and cosy. If you visit Stavanger, I really recommend eating at Bellies. As a vegan, I would say it is well worth going to Stavanger for sole reason visiting Bellies. I am only sorry I did not find out about it earlier, since I visit Stavanger some weeks every year for work. The first course with fried mushroom, served on a plate laid out like the floor of the forest with mosses and stones was in itself worth the quite modest price. But there were more food to come. The salad with turnips, spring onion and (körvel), a herb do not know english word and the course with grilled cabbage was exquisite. Also the dessert, with (libbsticka)a herb, do not know english name, strawberries and vanilla was brilliant! Although I really dont like cooking, I am now a little inspired. I learned today that cooking can be a form of art!

When food becomes art! - Edit
Quality not quantity is the key in this amazing, cozy, wonderful place. Each dish comes with a pairing wine which of course is exquisite and for sure expensive. Here is a place for delicatesse and for enlarging your vegan culinary boundaries! If you are into a Michelin star experience then, this is a MUST!

High class food for low price - Edit
We showed up without booking a table but they managed to squeeze us in. We got eight courses and brought us to every part of the world. It is fantastic to be able to enjoy vegan food with so much style. The attitude of the waiters is really friendly and it doesn't feel stiff. For only 650 a person we got a very nice experience. The waiting between dishes was long but this must have been because we showed up unexpectedly.

Very expensive, but good fancy food! - Edit
This was a type of place me and my girlfriend did not expect.
Read moreEverything was very nice, the waiters, the food, the interior, ...
We ordered a "full belly", which consisted of multiple (~8) different small meals from different parts of the world.
They also served fancy wines, and I got to try some delicious orange (the color) wine, which I didn't even know existed.
The only bad thing I have to say about this place is how expensive the food was, though one can justify it by how fancy the place is.
Nothing out of the ordinary, I'm glad I had this food experience!
Pros: Great fancy food, Nice facilities, Nice serivce
Cons: Very expensive, Remote (A little long walk from town)
