Vegan

Good spot for vegetarians, not so much for vegans - Edit

A few days ago we had a lovely afternoon on the outside terrace of Bellevue overlooking the Waal River. Before heading here for lunch I obviously checked out the menu and figured that there were enough vegan options to choose from.

Once at the restaurant, to my surprise there was a separate menu page with vega(n) options. However upon inquiring about the dishes to make sure they were vegan, the staff told me they use egg in the bread which cancels out basically all options except for the vegan poke bowl.

It was 30 degrees out the day we went and the vegan poke bowl wasn't going to do it for me, so I decided to go with the hummus sandwich despite the bread having egg as an ingredient. I must say the portion size was quite big and the sandwich had lots of toppings and tasted nicely. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo.

This is a great spot, nice staff and good options for vegetarians but Bellevue please improve your bread! The hummus sandwich had a baguette type of bread and those are usually available without egg in so I hope Bellevue will improve their recipe!

Pros: Lovely outside terrace, Friendly staff

Cons: Bread is not vegan, Only one vegan option
