Brilliant Separate Vegan Menu

Often transiting Luton Airport departures lounge but have, up till now, dismissed Bella Italia because it looked to me like a bar/pub food place 🤷‍♂️ This time I had several hours to ‘kill’ so I wandered in and was massively surprised 🙀 As someone who has some significant Italian ancestry it was so exciting to see iconic dishes such as Polpette in the offering 🕺💃

Because I’m Vegan and allergic to onions I took the easy option of the ‘Create Your Own Pizza’ 🍕 menu choice - adding Vegan Cheese, Roast Peppers, Spinach, Rocket and Olives to the very tasty Pizza Base and I was very completely satisfied by the results.

I should mention that I judge pizzas bases against the Sourdough organic semi-wholewheat pizzas that we create ourselves at home, and the quality of the topping against the standard of the homegrown Rocket and Spinach from out own garden. The pizza at Bella Italia came up to the mark in many ways ✅

Pros: Dedicated Vegan Menu, Wide Range of Options, Delicious Food

Cons: Nearly missed out - initially only read main menu

Very nice and especially convenient

Coming from vegan deprived Holland (don't let any one fool you, most Dutch restaurant suck at even understanding the concept of plant based food, let alone have vegan options), it is always nice to find proper vegan food at an airport. Full vegan menu available. Pretty good. Description here states that V is the vegan option, not true, go for the VG if you want cruelty free food.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, Phone chargers at the table

Cons: Rather slow for an airport restaurant, Seems to be out ingredients early in the evening
