Vegan options in the park - Edit

Bela Sombra has all vegan items clearly marked and these include a brunch formula, quiche, toasts, a burger, wraps and some cakes. The portions are big but the prices are quite high, might be because they’re bio. I tried the mushrooms toast and it was just sautéed mushrooms on bread, would be good if it was a bit more exciting to the palate :) good start though!

A very nice veg-friendly café - Edit

We go waiting for the Stars - Edit

Picturesque setting in the beautiful Star Gardens. There's a big screen inside where you can watch the football too. Pay at the left side then take your receipt to the staff at the counters on the right. A couple of small beers will set you back €3. Take a seat in the garden and enjoy. I noticed some people eating vegan food such as quiche and hummus with bread and dips which looked OK. We went back the next day to watch some football and they also had some decent looking pea and coriander and carrot and spinach croquettes.

Pros: location , some vegan options , good cold beer

Cons: veal croquettes

Nice place to chill and snack - Edit

Serendipity brought me here for a café and i stayed 2 hours reading while eating a nice vegan toasta.
I love this kind of places cause it's very casual and not labeled as "vegan friendly". Every kind of people go there and you can eat something without any butter or mayonnaise and still feel like a normal being.

no vegan stuff! - Edit

The map on HappyCow doesn't show the correct location of this place - it's on RUE da Estrela, on the other side of the nearby park (which is called Jardim da Estrela).

The place had no vegan options when we went.

Tea In The Park - Edit

We stumbled upon this one afternoon, having taken a rattling tram up the hill and saw the park was open. The setting is so picturesque with the pond and ducks just outside, where there are also tables and chairs. Inside the setup is informal, the staff friendly and more than willing to share their preferences for items on the menu. There are non-veggie and vegan options, but more than enough choice to make a meal an interesting exploration. The daily revised lunchtime menu, written on the chalkboard, was all vegetarian so far as I could tell. The clientele varied, students, dog walkers and couples. The wifi access worked and someone even had a power lead trailing across the room to their laptop; something not allowed in our health and safety obsessed society.

Pros: Great setting, Friendly, Tasty foods

Cons: Food not clearly labelled vegetarian
