Love the one located at the Causeway - Edit

When looking for the Beirut downtown, my family and I got lost about 3 times. The Beirut at the Causeway, however, is in a beautiful area, and it's very easy to locate. The waitress was friendly, even though we ordered a very large, complicated meal. Not many people there at the time, which we thought was odd. However, there were tons of vegan options, including a Falafel sandwich, traditional Falafel (if you order without the sauce, which contains dairy), Baba Ganush, Hommus, vegetable Kibbeh, and much more.

Pros: Great location, view of the bay, Many excellent vegan dishes, Moderate pricing

Cons: Small portions if ordering only one dish, Meals not labeled as vegan; must ask beforehand

Great place when you're hungry - Edit

I love beirut locations, I've been in the Playa Blanca, Zona Bancaria and Cosway and the staff has always been super helpful and friendly, which is something very hard to find in Panama.
I have tasted almost every vegan thing on the menu, babba ganoush, hummus, veg kibbe, tabbulleh salad, falafels, and eveything was good.
Actually the Playa Blanca location saved me on a work trip because everything in the resort menu had meat so I made a big purchased and saved the rest on the room fridge and ate their food for 2 days

Pros: lots of choices, friendly staff, several locations

Good Food - Edit

Recently ate there and had a great experience. I had hummus, baba ganoush, salad falafel. Everything was very tasty except if you're vegan make sure to tell them "no leche, queso, yogurt o mantequilla" because the falafel came with yoghurt on top.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Hookah smoke, American prices

Good food! - Edit

Beirut was a welcome meal after traveling in Panama for over 2 weeks and struggling to eat well as a vegan. We tried to find 4 other Happy Cow listed restaurants (all closed or too hard to locate) before finding Beirut, but we were happy to be there. It was New Year's Eve 2014 and they were preparing for a big NYE party, but the manager took care of us and made sure we got a meal. He also spoke in English to us to make sure that we could ask questions about the food and feel comfortable with the ingredients. He understood the concept of veganism and even suggested a well-rounded meal to us. I read the other reviews and agree that the rest of the staff seemed unfriendly and mostly self-absorbed, but when the manager was around, they did what he said. Too bad the manager isn't serving all of the tables there. They could definitely use some training on customer service. But if you focus on the food and fresh juices and enjoy the company at your table, the rest of this stuff won't matter. Parking was right out front. They are across from a casino, making it a bit easier to find. Cool patio area, and yes, in the city, there will be traffic noise on that patio. Try the fresh watermelon juice.

Pros: food was delicious, manager was helpful

Cons: staff not super friendly

Love Beirut Restaurants in Panama - Edit

At least once a month we head to Beirut Restaurant on the Amador Causeway so we can enjoy their vegetarian dishes. It also serves food for people who eat animals. The traffic is much easier on the causeway than in the city so now that we no longer live in the city we seldom visit that Beirut Restaurant, yet we used to eat there frequently when we did live in the city. Both locations are excellent. I love the outside deck on the causeway where you can see the ocean and the marina. The belly dancing on Thursday to Sunday night is a great treat. I love the service, and it is very consistently good. It seems that someone provides professional training to the servers - the service is way above any other service we have had in Panama. All in all it is a great dining experience. We go there with everyone who visits with us, and we have also held business meetings there.

Pros: Great tasting, well presented food, Excellent service, consistently , Great location -option inside or outside

Cons: None that I can think of

Busy street and not-so-friendly staff - Edit

The lentil soup and the combination platter were good.
However, there was a lot of noise from cars passing by.
Also the staff was not very welcoming.
The waitress did not look at us when serving meals, she was chewing gum and it was as if we were non existing.
Same for the others working on the patio.
They were chatting and laughing without giving attention to the guests.

Pros: Nice food

Cons: Location, Indifferent staff

Lots of Veg choices - Edit

Location: near Via España , the busy shopping street, across from the Royal Casino & walking distance from many downtown hotels in El Cangrejo district

Food and ambiance: Beirut has a spacious outdoor patio and two indoor dining rooms, and a menu with many Middle Eastern veg options: fattoush salad, babaganoush , hummus, lentil soup, pita pizza, felafel, & combination platter of veg appetizers. Some familiar dishes include dairy, but others are purely vegan. Service is quick, and beer, wine, soft drinks are available. I liked the complimentary glasses of strong mint tea that ended our meal. The veggie combination platter called "Beirut" is big enough to share, and soups and salads make it a reasonably varied lunch or dinner option for vegetarians and vegans in this city with few veg-friendly restaurants.

Pros: Fresh salads & appetizers, Vegan soups, Homemade pita bread

Cons: Might be hookah smoking on patio
