Set along the high street with some table and chairs in the sun we’d say it’s the best part about Bodmin

Best of Bodmin for vegan - Edit
For vegan food I have not found anything that matches this adorable little cafe in Bodmin. Perfect portion sizes for drinks and food, a great menu with beautiful, tasty and creative dishes (I had the Buddha bowl and it was 👌) and marvelous milkshakes. Would recommend to anyone who's in Bodmin and in need of a proper vegan lunch and wants to show off to all of their non-vegan friends. I will be back again soon, I am sure of that 💚💚

Cosy little cafe - Edit
Huckleberries (previously Begin V) is a cosy little cafe, with a shop section at the back where storecupboard, refrigerated and frozen products are available to buy too. Our dog was welcome to join us as we ate, which was much appreciated. We enjoyed some tasty, warming lunch on a drizzly day; the chickpea & sweet potato curry was particularly yummy, as was the blue victoria sponge cake!

Only place in my town - Edit
Was very excited that this place opened in my home town, the owners (I say that plural because it's changed like 3 times!) are always very nice. The cakes are excellent and my non-vegan family love it too!

Decent food, reasonable price. - Edit
I ate in BeginV today. I had the Chick Pea & Sweet Potato Curry with potato wedges. I followed that with a gateaux/sponge. All very good, tasty and recommended.
Read moreThere are also some vegan products/provisions for sale... I stocked up with some processed foodstuffs; Oatley, tahini, chocolate bar, Vego spread, instant Chai Tea, cans of Baked Beans & Sausages and Vegan Meatball Bolognese!
The cafe/shop is also home to the production of a frozen convenience food brand called Mint & Marjoram. I bought one of each of their range to try.
Pros: Decent wholesome food. Mains & desserts., Reasonable prices, Good range of vegan groceries, frozen and chilled.
Cons: A little bit crowded when busy., At the far end of Fore/High Street.

I love this shop!! - Edit
I visited your shop yesterday in search for something yummy for my baby nephew who is elergic to nuts eggs gluten and wheat. I wasn't disappointed. The ladies in there were amazing and so kind!! I came away with a home made rocky road bar. His little face while eating it was pure delight!! It was delicious! I will be a regular there now and would strongly recommend a visit to all the people who have allergies. What a fab place and it won't break the bank. Oh and the lemonade is the best I have ever tasted!!! So pleased I found this haven for my little man!

Lovely cafe, great shop selection - Edit
I had the glutenfree Buddha bowl and my husband had the regular breakfast (vegan full English). He loved his food and mine was tasty. Only complaint was that it took about 30 mins to arrive despite being the only ones there.
Read moreReally great selection of things to buy with dry, frozen and refrigerated goods. I also bought a tofu press which you don't see in many cafe shops!
Husband had a Bakewell tart which was really nice. Only 2 gf baked goods which was a shame, but the flapjack I had was nice.
Really friendly staff and we'd definitely come back.
Pros: All vegan, quite a lot of glutenfree, Great shop selection
Cons: Even more glutenfree would be good

Thank you for your review. I am not sure why you had to wait so long, I am sorry for that. We do cook everything fresh and will hopefully be quicker on your next visit. I have also noted your request for more gluten free cake options.

Wonderful Addition To Bodmin - Edit
I have visited this cafe many times. I’ve eaten in, ordered food to take away, and have bought from the small vegan supermarket. It is an absolutely wonderful place for vegans to have on their doorstep and I hope they stay here for good. Shopping for vegan fare in the local supermarkets is so difficult, but Begin V has many wonderful items to purchase. Their takeaway pizzas are amazing. Their Cornish Cream Tea with coconut cream is to die for. Their Buddha bowl and fresh cakes are also incredible. And after trying each of their tacos, I can confirm that I’ll be buying them again!! I just need a day to come in and try their beautiful looking afternoon tea! I can’t wait to visit again and again.

Begin V is an inviting and welcoming cafe with a great range of food. My non veggie dad and I both loved the food and drinks on offer. It’s lovely to have a menu that has a variety of food that is all perfect for any vegan or vegetarian. All the products available to buy from the supermarket are very inviting and look delicious, even for a non-vegan. What a nice cafe with a warm atmosphere and lovely food!

Great vegan and gluten free food - Edit
So many vegan dishes that are also gluten free which is difficult to find. So far i have had a juicy burger, chocolate and beetroot cake, lentil bolognaise, and a cheese and caramelised onion sandwich which have all been lovely. The cafe also includes a mini vegan supermarket with things like nut butters, chocolate, tofu presses and nut roasts.
