Bright, fun, fast, some recipe issues - Edit
We got the chorizo verde on the bun and the un-chicken sandwich. The place is super-fast and the food is fresh and made to order.
Read moreThe seitan on the un-chicken sandwich maybe needs a little recipe tweaking. It's deliciously crunchy and fried on the outside and fluffy inside, but it's also a bit too wet...enough that it is noticeably dissolving a little bit, creating the sandy flour texture that you get from wet or uncooked seitan. The wetness/sandiness is is subtle so it doesn't really ruin the dish, but it stands between it and a "WOW" rating.
The vegan chorizo dog was delicious, as were the onion rings. The flavors were good and the service is super fast. I think despite the seitan issue, this place still comes out ahead of places that are more mass-production in its food quality.

Modern Fast Food With Healthy Options - Edit
Was kind of a funny place. They served you food in a take away container on a real plate. So kind of a hybrid of fast food, but with a dine in experience. Order and pay up front. Food is called and you go and pick it up and bring it to the table. Has bar like seating facing the outside and tables to sit face to face. Offers sides like Brussel sprouts and broccoli. I had the hotdog with relish and crispy onions and a sauce. I think the dog was homemade and the toppings were too. My friend had the chick'n sandwich and the other friend had the broccoli side. Everything was pretty good and had a nice feel. Nice quasi-diner feel.

Not stand out - Edit
There’s a lot of really good spots to get vegan burgers in Vancouver (woohoo) I was expecting this one to stand out from the crowd because of all of the hype but it was just alright.

Really good vegan comfort food on Davie - Edit
Cute little vegan fast / comfort food in the heart of Davie village. A great mix of healthy and indulgent (including the deep fried chick-un sandwich... my fav!). A tad pricey, but worth the visit!

Average comfort food - Edit
I was very excited about this new place, as all the arcticles I read on the internet just before opening were promising a special experience. So I went there just shortly after opening.
Read moreDuring my first visit, I had the Fried Chick-Un Sandwich and Tempura Onion Rings. It was kind of a disappointment. The "chicken" has a nice crispy breading, anyway this cannot cover the fact that the seitan itself is tasteless and its strusture is a bit weird (not firm enough). The onion rings were not battered in tempura in my opinion, just casual breadcrumbs, and a bit too oily.
During my second visit, I tried Chilli Cheese Fries. Those were alright, but not exceptional.
The place is cosy, has enough seating and I appreciated that if you eat in, you get the food in real dishes, not just single-use packaging. Prices are fair. and service is qucik. There was no wifi.
Generally, I do not feel the need to go to this place again, only in case I am in a hurry and have nothing else available nearby.
Pros: Location, Prices
Cons: Taste is average

Comfort foods of my dreams - Edit
Ordered the chick-un sandwich, chilli cheez friends, fried Brussels sprouts, and satay rice cakes. Was blown away with the flavours. Chick-in sandwich was incredibly crispy and fresh. Massive portion of chilli cheez fries. Fair prices and delicious. Will definitely return.
