Food is less than mediocre

The food was substandard, the service was bad, and the seasoning non existent. They clearly don’t know how to make vegan food. The only good thing is the nice location. Even the non-vegan/vegetarian food was bad, according to my family.

Limited vegan options

Nothing marked on menu as vegan but staff were helpful in offering options. 3 dishes shown under 'plant-based' but only 2 were vegan, and they were basically the same dish, one hot, one cold. Beet salad was delicious but other dishes lacked seasoning and flavor.

Pros: Fresh and healthy tasting, Helpful friendly staff, Attractive location and part ocean view

Cons: Limited vegan dishes and not marked as such on men, Dishes lacked seasoning and were quite bland, Expensive

Meat included.

Very few vegan options and It could be cross contaminated and shared kitchen with meats.

Cons: Meats on the menu , Not many of vegans

Vegan options, ocean views

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Beeside Balcony on New Years Eve while visiting beautiful Del Mar, California. This spot was selected by my omni/ mixed diet group for its ocean views, outdoor seating and heated patio.

They don’t have marked vegan options on the menu, but the staff is knowledgeable and will let you know what can be made vegan or is already vegan. (I called ahead) They made me a hummus platter with toasted pita and roasted veggies that I quite enjoyed. But I was most pleasantly surprised and impressed with my entrée, the Smoked Paprika Baked Tofu. It’s vegan by default, and came served on a bed of quinoa with a really refreshing lime-cilantro vinaigrette dressing. The tofu was marinated and full of flavor, and a really good texture.

Well done! More than I was expecting from a meat-and-seafood-centric restaurant! 👏🏼👏🏼
