SOOO DELICIOUS 🤤 - Edit
Unbelievably good. What a treat! Huge portions, all made in house. So glad we stopped for an early dinner. Don’t miss dessert! Pineapple upside down cake-heavenly. They serve brunch. We will be back for that tomorrow.

Tasty house burger - Edit
Had their house made bean burger with side of steamed kale. My niece had the portabella salad. Everything was delicious! 😋 Service was friendly and quick. Lots of options to choose from. Addition of rice mixed with beans on my burger gave it nice texture and moisture. Kale was steamed to just slightly wilted and sesame seeds were a good compliment to the flavor. Definitely will keep this on my list for place to eat next time I'm in Charlotte.

Original Vegan of Charlotte - Edit
Bean Vegan Cuisine is the original vegan restaurant that started it all for Charlotte. Erected about 13 years ago, Bean Vegan is still on the forefront of good vegan eats in the Queen City.
Read moreThe first thing to welcome you into the store is quintessential southern hospitality. The staff are friendly and helpful to the point of saccarine. This is the first mom ‘n pop homeliness I have felt in a vegan restaurant before.
The food is a wide range of vegan fast food eats. We ordered the BBQ sandwich and the Jalapeño Burger. The BBQ utilized soy curls which gave it a stronger resistance and “toughness” of the bite than a typical jackfruit BBQ. The burger showcased fried jalapeños that provided crunch and heat. The food was a perfect satiation for salty, fatty food. But, like non-vegan fast food, it’s best occasionally to prevent that brick in your stomach feeling.
For dessert we had the chocolate cake which was some of the best tasting vegan cake I have ever had. Do not pass up on this choice. As the owner let us know, the cake was taken from a depression-era old family recipe — and didn’t take much adjusting to accommodates plant-based palette during a time when milk was hard to come by.
The only downside I could mention is the atmosphere. The exterior could really use some loving attention and the sign is fading away. Aside from that, the location is built right on a busy highway, and this makes it difficult to enter and leave the parking lot.
However, these small complaints don’t take away from all the good that is Bean Vegan Cuisine. If you are in Charlotte looking for lunch, you have to pay a visit to this Southern town’s OG vegan hotspot.
Pros: Entirely vegan, Extremely friendly service, Delicious fried vegan food
Cons: Dilapidated outside, Difficult to drive in

Drove 20 mins to get there only to find out it’s in the process of being sold. Will reopen in a week or so? Call before you go. No notice on web. Food maybe great…who knows??

Decent price and fried vegan foods galore - Edit
Been awhile since I had been here. Location used to be a Pizza Hut. Prices are not too bad. Loved the Diablo burger with the fried jalapeno. None of the burgers are house made, so the burgers are processed vegan junk food. I guess tell the service exactly what you want and be detailed about it, cause she did get annoyed with any changes to your order. But I understand the avoiding food waste irritation.

All vegan, everything delicious - Edit
Love that it's all fully vegan. We got the cheese steak and a jalapeno burger, both were delicious. They use impossible burgers. Added the seitan bacon to try, that was also really good. 10/10

Delicious for vegans and omnis - Edit
My husband's brother took us here while we were visiting Charlotte and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Korean barbecue cauliflower, buffalo fried tofu, greens, red beans and rice, king burger with tater tots, and the Reuben. On special were the mushroom po boy, the strawberry shortcake milkshake, which were delicious. We had to finish with the vanilla layer cake. If you live in Charlotte, you are so lucky to have this gem.

Lucky Find - Edit
We found this gem (Charlotte, NC) on our way back from DC. I'm afraid I didn't take any pictures, but the food was great and the staff was incredibly friendly (the owner was making the food, and chatted with us about the place's origin story while we looked through their little shop). I recommend their Jalapeño Cheddar Burger, husband enjoyed the Cowboy Burger. Their Chocolate Layer Cake and Carrot Cake Cupcakes were delicious.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Edit
The food was surprisingly good and it is very affordable compared to other vegan restaurants in the area (ahem, Oh My Soul). I liked that the menu was very explicit about products and brands featured in meals so that I knew what to expect. However, during our visit there was only one server for 10 tables, and she had to also process takeout orders and make any shakes/drinks. The bathrooms were disgusting and the general atmosphere was one that I wouldn’t recommend to others nor would I revisit. The one server was clearly overworked and tired. Management needs to do better.

Great burger excellent milkshake - Edit
I got the seasonal strawberry shortcake milkshake and it was phenomenal. Their cheese fries are excellent and so is the cowboy burger. Their seitan bacon mostly tastes like maple but still good. Was a little disappointed we couldn’t get fried pickles or onion rings as a side even though they’re still listed as a side.

Vegan comfort food - Edit
I usually order the Cowboy Burger or the tofu fingers, but I tried the brunch bowl today and loved it as much as my usual favorites. Bean always has fantastic comfort food, and the service is extremely friendly. Delicious desserts and soft serve ice cream are a couple of other great reasons to eat at Bean.
