AMAZING! - Edit

Literally the only negative thing I can say about this place is that it's not in the town where I live (Im in GA) but SO GLAD we visited when we came to Asheville. Would LOVE to come again!

Liked what we got. Both the vegans and the omnivores in our group were satisfied. Will be back on our next visit.

Fantastic Vegan Restaurant! - Edit

Every time my wife and I go to Asheville, we end up eating here several times. The Queso Dip is amazing, and I really like the Bacon Cheeseburger. Great vegan food, with healthier options as well.

I eat here several times/month

I only wish the “today’s special” mushroom burger would happen more often. The jalapeño burger is incredible.

I was in Hendersonville for a wedding and ended up eating lunch at Bean three days in a row. Everything was delicious--I tried a different dish every time. Loved the brunch items especially although the burgers, sandwiches, and sides were all mouth-watering. Loved every bite!!

Pros: huge variety, friendly staff, reasonably priced

So Good! - Edit

All vegan menu makes ordering so exciting! You mean, I can have anything??? Lol I got the cheddar bacon burger of course and was so impressed! It was incredible and the fries were great too. I was not as impressed the second time around with their breakfast bowl but I haven't ever gotten used to vegan breakfast replacements so maybe that's just me. I can't wait to go back and try the Buffalo cauliflower!

Pros: Full vegan menu, Great friendly service

Cons: breakfast was not my favorite

Southern Comfort - Edit

Brought my parents and my kids to Bean, and all three generations enjoyed the excellent, Southern comfort food. Oh, yeah, and it's all vegan! From now on, Bean is a "must" anytime I return back home to visit my parents.

Bean is a little hard to spot off the highway, US 25, so keep you eye out for the sign. The restaurant has a nice, casual atmosphere, and the wait staff is up beat and helpful answering questions about the various menu items.

All of our meals tasted great, and were served in more than ample portions. We started with the fried cauliflower, with ranch and Buffalo sauces. For the main course the kids had fried Tofu Fingers and Cowboy Burgers, while the adults had Crabby Patties, Old Fashioned Meatloaf, and Reuben Sandwiches. We especially liked the side dishes we had: Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Collard Greens, Fried Pickles, and Mac and Cheese. The Raspberry Zinger Cake and the Chocolate Layer Cake desserts were very good, also.

We are definitely looking forward to going back to try the many other dishes on the menu, which look equally awesome.

Pros: Tasty comfort food, Friendly staff, Reasonable prices

Cons: None

One of my very favorite vegan spots! - Edit

Bean is hands down one of our very favorite nosh out vegan joints! We visit the Asheville area specifically for the food, beer and views, and Bean is always the very first place we go to. The Cowboy Burger is my absolute favorite (and maybe I genuinely shed a happy tear the first time I tried it lol). On more than one occasion, we have eaten multiple meals in a day there and we always day dream about it when we're home! All of the employees are always absolute angels as well. Super sweet and welcoming! They also carry some neat retail packaged vegan items, like mixes and boxed foods, that can be hard to find. Last but not least, the desserts are absolutely AMAZING! They're always changing and always some of the best we've ever had! Thanks for being so amazing, Bean!!!

Pros: Amazing delicious food, Wonderful customer service, Retail vegan goods

A place where vegan dreams come true! - Edit

I have been vegan for only a short time but am no stranger to the struggles of the life choice. This place not only makes being vegan an actual cake walk but I was able to indulge in the foods everyone told me I'd be missing. Everything tastes amazing and I felt nothing lacking what so ever. Please support this place. Places like this make our community such a better place to exist

Pros: EVERYTHING

Cons: I ONLY HAVE ONE STOMACH

Great Familiar Flavors! - Edit

I thought Bean had some great options for vegans who want to have a taste of what they used to eat before going vegan. I really enjoyed my food, but the tofu strips sandwich I had wasn't excitingly good. The queso was GREAT. Definitely try that out and maybe even get it as an entree.

Pros: All vegan!, old fashioned southern food

A little disappointing - Edit

We took a group of our non-vegan friends hoping to show off how tasty Vegan food could be. The menu is quite large which I initially was very excited about. The staff were nice and friendly. Sadly, when the food arrived it wasn't as tasty as we had hoped. It wasn't terrible, but I don't think we will go back.

Pros: Wide selection, friendly staff

Cons: Not very tasty

Genuinely terrible - Edit

I was so excited to go to Bean Vegan Cuisine, as I was craving fried, southern food and the reviews were good. We were starving and ordered the fried pickle appetizer, the fried tofu plate and the cowboy burger. We also had 3 sides: mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. Not only was all the food bland (poorly seasoned, poorly fried, unappealing textures), but some of it was genuinely distasteful to the point that I wouldn't eat it (mashed potatoes, fried tofu, mac and cheese). The pickles tasted alright but weren't fried properly and the burger was totally fine, so I give it a star for the burger and another star for being all vegan. I think they should just serve their burgers and have that be it.

Also, keep in mind that this is a fast-food chain atmosphere.

Pros: Quick service

Cons: Terrible food (flavors and textures)

The best - Edit

The fried pickles. Seriously.
Everything here is amazing. The crabby patty burger is probably my favorite lunch/dinner entree, and it's everything you want it to be.
Staff is super friendly, and there's a little section of stuff you can bring home. This is where I got the follow your heart vegan egg before my friends in Atlanta could, and it was probably the first and only new vegan product I could ever try before they did. They also have those Joker faux-snickers bars that I love.
So I feel like I have to address the pictures they have on their website. They really need new ones. I looked at those pictures, toggled back to the menu, and then back to the pictures for the longest time before I felt like I could give this place a shot. I did not regret it. You will not regret going here.

Pros: Best vegan junk food omg, Seriously their fried pickles, Their staff is amazing but they work here so duh

Cons: Those pictures on their website really need to go

You are going to love it - Edit

I was traveling on business and I was looking for a local place that offered healthy food. I am working on being a vegetarian but my wife does not believe that you can have dinner without meat – it’s going to take a while.
Bean Vegan is the first vegan restaurant that I have been that I would feel comfortable taking non-vegan friends and family to, to show them that no one has to die for you to eat a great meal. I didn’t know what to order so I asked what the server would recommend. She was very friendly and made several suggestions which I followed. I had a great quinoa burger that was spicy and delicious. I will go back to Bean Vegan anytime that I am in the area.

Pros: Great selection of comfort food options, Food options for everyone, Friendly and helpful staff

Cons: Drive entrance is a little steep.

LOVE YOU BEAN CUISINE! - Edit

Almost the only thing I miss about Asheville is Bean. The food, the staff, the endless coffee, THE DESSERTS! The reuben remains one of the best I've ever tried. And I'm talking nationwide. It's good, y'all!

Pros: BREAKFAST, STAFF, EVERYTHING ELSE

Cons: NOT 24/7!!
