Tasty but small

Opted for sliders thinking there would be 2, but to my disappointment there was one and the smallest portion of fries I think I’ve ever seen. It was tasty, but definitely more of a snack than a meal. Cost $5

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Small portions

Possibly the best vegan food on Koh Rong

I stayed at the Beachwalk resort for a week and it was lovely. If you're vegan, you probably won't do much better on Koh Rong – not the greatest vegan food in the world, but there are plenty of options marked on the menu (you can see the full menu on their website).

Many dishes are based on omnimeat and while some of the staff do know what vegan means, others appear to think that "vegan" = "contains omnimeat." This led to a couple of awkward situations: one was when the omnimeat was not available for the first couple of days I was there, so I was told by a waitress that there was no vegan food at all. Another was when omnimeat was added to dishes where I didn't want it just because I asked for the dish to be vegan.

Aside from that – the burgers are pretty good, the Cambodian dishes aren't bad (you can ask to add tofu), the nachos are disappointing and come with only a dab of guacamole, some weird green sauce that I think is supposed to be cheese, and a pile of onions and corn kernels. All the omnimeat does get a little boring after a while. There is one vegan dessert – an ice cream sundae with fruit salad, mango ice cream, and vegan whipped cream, not too bad!

As for breakfast – there are two options on the menu; one is a cauliflower hash that was very dry and unappealing, the other is fried rice with vegetables (you can ask to add tofu even though it's not on the menu). Overnight oats and pancakes are on the general breakfast menu but the staff is unwilling/unable to make them vegan. Nothing was really appealing to me as morning food so I started asking them to bring me just a baguette and some avocado. On the bright side, breakfast includes unlimited fresh fruit, and the fruit is delicious, as is the fresh passion fruit juice.

To sum it up – this resort is decent for vegans, but don't expect an amazing culinary experience.

Probably one of the best vegan options

Bit more of an effort to walk to but totally worth it. Maybe one of the best places with vegan options on this part of the island. The omnimeat sliders were great and super filling

Pros: Really nice setting , Omnimeat was great, Clearly labelled options

Good food but check availability of omnimeat

Just had the vegetarian nachos. Very good quality unlike some other attempts I’ve had on the islands. However they did not contain the promised omnimeat, which I don’t mind but if you are vegan it might make them a bit dull so I would call ahead before coming here for omnimeat. The poolside bar is really nice and it looks like a nice place to stay too.

Pros: Quality food, Relaxed poolside bar, Nice beach

Cons: A bit remote to visit just for food, No omnimeat in my nachos
