Lovely place, spacious, lots of fresh products

Very spacious organic shop. Nice decor & interior. Lots of nuts, grains, lentils etc available in bulk (waste reduction). I bought some brasil nuts. Pity about the meat and cheese section. The offer of the foodcourt also seemed nice (all vegan). Breakfast & lunck and vegan pies.

Cons: not all vegan

Great organic market for fresh produce

If you're in need of some fruit and veggies around Ghent this is a must visit. The location is really central and offers some freshly prepared food in case the shopping made you hungry for tasting some of that delicious produce. They do efforts to offer a wide selection of locally sourced fruits and veg. Aditionally they also offer a counter of other fresh products and for dry goods, wine and oil there is also a bulk section. They keep waste management in mind and even have a collection point for old corks for example.

Pros: Delicious fresh produce, Located in the city centre, attention for fairtrade, organic and seasonal

Best organic store in town

BE O is an all organic fruit and vegetables market with an eleborate cheese counter and tuns with dried goods (nuts, grains, pasta, rice,...). They also sell wine (also in bulk!), fruit juices, coffee (grained or not), olive oil (bulk!), organic meat and tea. They are bulk-friendly: even if there is no obvious infrastructure to weigh home-brought containers at the entrance, you can ask to weigh them and they'll write the tarra weight on your container. You can also reuse (paper) bags. Anything that is sold in bulk (90% of the goods I think) is thus available waste free.
They are the absolute best in town concerning both quality and price for organic produce in a store.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and open to suggestions.
