Great option in a vegan desert - Edit
Currently, the lunch menu has a vegan Thai Red Curry (mild), as well as a vegetable samosa that looks like it would be vegan but isn’t labeled, so best to ask. The soup of the day when I was there was a vegan vegetable soup. Our server also said they could likely veganize some of the other dishes. I think the easiest would be the salad with goat cheese that you could just leave off. I believe the dinner menu is different and includes a veg-friendly mezze platter (but I could be wrong).

The restaurant’s ambience is lovely and relaxing. Excellent waitstaff.

Reduced vegan options from before - Edit
Update December 2023: I am very disappointed that there is now only one vegan option on menu, the Thai red curry. I first joined happy cow to review this restaurant on the staff's request 4 years ago. It is hard to believe that the vegan options on the menu has been reduced since instead of increased. The curry was tasty but it is the ubiquitous basic option for a vegan on any Irish menu. I have reduced my rating from four stars to three based on this. Perhaps it is under new management.
Read morePrevious review 2019: I have ordered the Ful Medames twice now and it is delicious and filling! I was offered a vegan dessert which wasn't on the menu, a coconut panna cotta with berries and sorbet that was vibrant and delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the chefs are willing to experiment with vegan dishes which is fantastic in a restaurant that is not even primarily vegetarian. The vegetarians with me with very pleased as well by the baked goats cheese, and fish and chips. Presentation of all dishes is very decorative and unique.

Special was too expensive - Edit
It's a nice restaurant. A few years ago, the Syrian food was amazing. I went there a few weeks ago, and my special of the day tofu "steak" was about the size of a credit card, and cost 25 euro. More expensive than the fish and chips, and practically more expensive than real steak. That's not on, especially as the price wasn't listed. However, they have options that make more sense financially - like a big bowl of curry.

Nice dinner - Edit
The restaurant is spacious and staff were excellent. They have a selection of vegan organic wines, but the staff were not keen to recommend them. I had a Thai red curry. It wasn't great- veggies were over done and the portion size was massive. It was fine to tide me over as there weren't many options in Bandon.

Nice vegan options - Edit
It’s hard to find a fully vegan place outside cities in Ireland. It this place was nice authentic Middle Eastern cuisine from a friendly owner who took great interest in telling me about the traditions of vegan food in Middle Eastern cuisine. I’ve been vegan for a long time but never had this dish before - a fava bean dish. They had shop bought vegan icecream in a few flavours for dessert. Friendly service , good food ,not expensive .

Delicious & Varied menu - Edit
This place has an interesting vegan/vegetarian menu that strays farther from the ubiquitous salads and burgers. I got the syrian board (must ask for alterations) which was so full of flavour and spices that I haven't even tried before. There were so many things I wanted to get, as all looked so inviting and interesting. The samosas, the dips, the warm pitta breads and crispy falafels with a soft interior came together as a meal bursting with flavour. I would love to return to try the other options but not sure I could resist getting this again.
Read moreI know some disagree with having non-vegan restaturants here, but those that wouldn't ever try a totally vegan restaurant might see the amazing options on the vegan menu here and see that it's not all 'can-I-get-the-plain-salad-without-the-cheese' type meals but they can be spicy delights.
Overall, a great find and I will definitely return and urge you to do so.
Pros: Varied menu, Delicious flavours, Staff helpful and friendly
Cons: quiet at 2 pm on a tuesday, if thats a prob, not a fully vegan menu but vegetarian/vegan
