Serves meat, vegan options available. Small chain of spaghetti restaurants. The "holy mary" & the "bolo bastard" are vegan when made using the gluten-free pasta. Open Mon-Fri 11:30-14:30, 17:00-21:00, Sat-Sun 11:30-21:00.
Had the Holy Mary with glutenfree spaghetti twice here. Portions are large (couldn’t finish them). The spaghettis aren’t gourmet or exceptional just decent.
I recently visited Bavet and had a disappointing experience. I specifically asked for a vegan option and discussed the available choices with the waitress, yet I was still served a dish with goat cheese. As soon as I tasted it and realized something was off, the young waitress took the plate away. She initially said they would simply remove the cheese, but quickly corrected herself to say they would prepare a new portion.
After about five minutes, I received a "new" dish, but I could tell it was the same portion they had taken back — they had just discarded the cheese. It felt careless and unprofessional.
The food itself was quite disappointing as well. The pasta was bland, with far too much spaghetti and barely any sauce. The vegan meatballs were dry and flavorless, and the overall meal left much to be desired. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with vegan food. I won't be returning to Bavet.
I recommend the vegan option "The Holy Mary" with gluten-free spaghetti and additional cheatballs. It would be nice if they also offered vegan parmesan as a topping.
