Barnett's Wholefoods - Edit

This is really a very nice, well stocked shop and the staff are friendly and helpful.
However i am sometimes disappointed that the owner sells vitamins and supplements to customers for health problems that could possibly be managed with a change in diet or maybe stress management etc?

Barnett's Wholefoods, Waterloo, Liverpool - Edit

An independent store, conveniently located on St Johns Road, an oasis of delight in the vegetarian/vegan desert that is this side of the city. Personal service from friendly knowledgeable staff. Great range of vegetarian and vegan foods, with decent chiller selection including delicacies like tofu wieners, various Redwoods products and more.

***They now have a freezer and are stocking ice cream, including the magical Booja Booja vegan ice cream that surpasses all ice cream I have previously tasted, vegan and non vegan. In the freezer you will also find tasty Fry's vegetarian chicken style strips.***

Excellent selection of toiletries, e.g. Faith in Nature, Weleda and more, plus Lavera cosmetics.

Barnetts also offer an excellent range of household cleaning products, from biodegradable bin bags, to ecological soap powder and other cleaning products. Wide range of supplements, vitamins, minerals plus herbal remedies and supplements. Stockist of sport and fitness protein supplements including vegan varieties.

Other new recent additions include the hard to get hold of vegan versions of Mars, Snickers, Bounty and Milky Way bars. I have tried them and they are delicious.

A variety of delicious fresh bread, including seeded and spelt available Saturdays.

Barnetts also offer a range of holistic treatments and therapies in their on site treatment rooms.

Pros: staff, variety of products , nothing like it for miles

Tanglewood 19 Aug 2010 - Thanks for this review, based on this I visited the store and bought lavera make-up foundation, thus completing the veganisation of all my make-up!! ;) I was having such trouble finding foundation in shops without ordering off the net. Thanks again :)

Great shop with good ideas - Edit

Barnett's is a great little shop with a pretty good selection of foods, toiletries, eco household cleaners and supplements. It also has a lending library in the back room where you can borrow books on alternative therapies, yoga practice etc etc for a small donation. It's not the cheapest but the quality is always top notch - wish they had a freezer though!! Staff are always really friendly and very knowledgeable on the stock. Great for vegan goodies though I couldn't afford to shop here every week.

Pros: Good range, Fab staff

Cons: A bit expensive
