Delicious Vegan in downtown area

Variety and delicious vegan meals.
It's a buffet, but you pay per weight, 44.00 Brazilians Reals per 1kg.
Clean and good environment.

Pros: They offer a vegan version of many international, recipes and Brazilian cuisine

Cons: 10 Euros per 1kg of food

Great food and many vegan options

It's a place to have luch everyday. Each day they have a different menu, sometimes thematic. I love the salads and desserts (most of them are vegan).

Pros: Good price, lots of vegan options

Cons: Too much soy options

Little bit hidden, but a lovely surprise

Located on the first floor, it is not a restaurant you would easily stumble across. They offer a variety of different veggie options, that even my meat-loving friend honestly enjoyed. The staff is unfortunately not very polite, but if you don't mind the missing hospitality, then this place is for you.

Good food, great desserts

The best desserts in Rio are found here, and it's pay-by-weight, so come with a sweet tooth. I ate my fill here, especially the farofa, which I thought was particularly good

Glorious Caricoca Veggie Space

This may be one of Rio's best kept secrets. The entrance is completely unmarked; it's only after you go upstairs that you hear, smell, and see the restaurant.

I went on a Wednesday based on a previous comment, and the selection was all vegan. I can imagine it wouldn't be as appealing on other days, but it was pretty tasty, with a nice (though pretty simple) selection. The dairy-free deserts were great too.

It's clear that this place is very popular as it was nearly packed when I was in. The staff was very friendly though – if not a bit over-efficient, removing my plate with a bit left on it when I'd gotten up to get another juice.

For a vegan, it doesn't have the same variety and level of skill as a place used to working with v plates all the time, but still a great spot to visit in downtown RJ.

Pros: tasty, hearty, friendly, clean, interesting building/atmosphere

Cons: limited selection, limited hours, only vegan on Weds

Milk containing dishes labeled

Lacto vegetarian, but it turns vegan at wednesdays.
Discount for members of the Brazilian Vegetarian Society.

Eventually the restaurant hosts vegan cuisine courses.

Pros: Labels indicate what contain milk/gluten, Beautiful place

Cons: Address difficult to explain

Nice food

Nice food, but on some days they might taste quite the same.

Last time I was there, they started serving fish as well, so they're not to be considered 100% anymore.

Overall, it's a good place to go.
