Vegans: Stay AWAY! - They lie about making their food vegan!

I called ahead and was told they could make just about any dish vegan. I was thrilled by this b/c I love Thai food when I can get it vegan (which is exceedingly rare) and looked forward to meeting a friend (who isn't vegan) there.

I ordered a vegetable-only curry after the server "confirmed" that it could be made vegan. (Unfortunately, our server wasn't "tuned in" at all. Lack of training here plus showing no desire to be there made our interactions frustrating overall.) My friend's food was also supposed to be vegan and free from fish sauce and shrimp paste. The food comes and ... It wasn't.

Both of our supposed vegan dishes stunk to high-heaven with the scent of seafood. (Before you ask, no seaweed was in there, either. Thus, the smell should have been entirely absent.) Then, we each took a spoon to take a single taste. Yes, VERY strong taste of fish sauce/shrimp paste.

Sadly, I've found that most Thai restaurant owners refuse to be honest and/or they seem to think they can just hide the sauce/paste in their dishes, and people won't detect them. So, they get to trick people and not have to make any changes at all. That might work for some vegans who previously enjoyed seafood (when they were an omni eater) or love the taste of seaweeds. I don't. I *always* had an intense disgust for seafood. The smell and taste makes me gag, and I can smell or taste it "from a mile away". There's no fooling me on this stuff, despite many a restaurant trying over the years.

When my friend and I pointed out the obvious with our food, they continued to lie to us. There were no apologies whatsoever. My friend and I were floored by the lack of honesty, caring and service. So, we paid our bill and left.

This was my first and last visit to this establishment. If you are a vegan, go somewhere else.

Side note - is it possible to find a truly vegan Thai dish? It is. Just know this is _extremely_ rare. For the time being, I'm no longer visiting any more Thai restaurants. I've had enough of the lies as similar experiences have happened to me in the past. (At least those other restaurants owned up to what they did and apologized. This one didn't.)

Mamak curry and garlic/pepper tofu were so good we went back the next week!

Almost everything could be made vegan except some of the soups

Pros: Lots of vegan options

INCREDIBLE

I would eat every meal here if I could. The staff are the most wonderful and accommodating people. They are so happy to “no egg” a recipe. Be warned the hot is HOT! Top faves: Green Curry, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Thai Basil Fried Rice. You gotta get a salad with ginger dressing and some veggie spring rolls. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and every time I am so happy.

My favorite Thai place

Love it here! Best curry!!! My favorite dish is the Thai rama king with tofu. SOO GOOOOOD!! The garlic black pepper tofu is also bomb. Fresh basil rolls can be made with tofu. Their massaman curry and pineapple curry are great too. My husband usually orders the pad see yew, which isn’t my favorite but it’s good.

I only went b/c the reviews on here

I read the reviews on here and gave this place a try. It is in a house or "cabin". No issue with that but the place smelled like it had stove exhaust issues. I don't know but it didn't smell clean. The place was empty but the phone was ringing for takeout. I put my forearms on the tablemat and it was sticky. I had to go wash my arms in the bathroom. We had the springs rolls which were good. The fried tofu was good. The pad thai and the thai fried rice weren't. The pad thai had a vinegar smell and the thai fried rice just wasn't good. The lady was very nice and we took the food to go because we hardly ate any of the entree. I didn't have the heart to tell this nice woman how terrible the food was.

Wish I could give 5 Stars!!

This place deserves 5 stars but that’s reserved for vegan only places. I had a house salad with ginger dressing and the Red King Curry. It was fabulous. One of the best curries I’ve ever tasted. I wish I was local but will definitely make this a return stop anytime I’m. Ear Kennesaw! Cute old cabin enhanced with Thai decor touches and flavorful authentic food. Large portions & great price and service.

Pros: Vegan options, Great curries, Knowledgeable and friendly staff

Cons: No website

great food

Had a really nice massaman curry with tofu here.

The menu said items could be veganized and the waitress understood and confirmed everything.

Will definitely be going back

Pros: Nearly everything can be veganized, Great food, Reasonably priced

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant

Best restaurant for vegans in kennesaw IMO

Curries are the best I've had. Food is high quality, I feel physically good after eating it unlike most non-vegan restaurants.

Pros: Large portions, Staff understands "make it vegan", Friendly staff

Cons: Serves the take-out curries in PVC plastic , Not the most "cleanly" vibe,
