Vegan cheesesteak!!

Vegan options were definitely limited as when I was there (yesterday), there were no baked goods but this wrap was exactly what I needed after a busy day in the ED!!! Grabbed some coffee ( oat milk!) and enjoyed the vibe here for a bit before the shift and got the sandwich to go. Didn’t get to eat lunch until 4pm but dang it was tasty!

Baked Goods and Plant Milks

Only one of the items in the baked goods case was marked “vegan” (a cheesesteak wrap). Two staff had to verify with others that the rest were indeed vegan, but all allergens were clearly listed on each item. They were out of oat milk on my visit, but other plant options available. Neat place to spend some time reading a book. Will be back.

Coffee and Vegan Baked Goods!

There are only a handful of vegan options in this area. Any business that offers them needs all the publicity they can get.
Bamse has been open for over a year at the time of this review. They recently added vegan baked items such as scones, coffee cake and brownies. Vegan items are noted. They seem to aways switch up their selections so there are always different choices.
They blend their own coffee and have several blends and also offer a few vegan creamers such as coconut and almond milk.
There are plenty of lounging areas to read and relax in the former sanctuary. Also be sure to check out the small Shamokin museum located in the rear room along with a small record shop.
Parking is located along the creek, not the small lot next to "the 99 steps".
Dog friendly.

Pros: Assortment of vegan baked items, Plenty of parking, Dog Friendly

Cons: Short hours
