Hit the spot - Edit
Really tasty banh mi. Cheap (28k) and fully vegan.
Read moreOnly issue is when I was there they weren’t able to provide any of the drinks on the menu. They did give me an iced tea thing for free which was very nice of them but wouldn’t have been my choice.

Delicious banh mi - Edit
The banh mi were delicious although the bread was a bit dry. The mayo is vegan so no need to ask without.

All vegan - Edit
The banh mi at Bami are excellent. With just the right amount of foliage. I asked about their mayonnaise. They said it's soy based.

Second chance - Edit
Edit: after a reply from the owner assuring they are now vegan I decided to give them a second chance.
Read moreThe service is very good (no English spoken but an English menu and pictures available). Tried a range of food - banh mi, sticky rice and dim sum and they were all good. The coffee (with plant milk) was decent. Still only 4* after my first visit but I may upgrade after my next visit.
A nice, shiny new vegan/plant based banh mi place just opened. Only once again they’re not! All the conversations were in Vietnamese so there was no language barrier.
We asked about the food and was told everything is vegan so I pointed out the milk coffee (they don’t have it yet but will, the owner claimed there will be plant and cow milk), at this we asked further about the food and it were told it’s all vegan. After I looked closely and saw the mayonnaise I asked about this. The owner claimed it has milk but not egg (bizarre for mayonnaise) but admitted it wasn’t vegan. She then assured me there was no mayo on my banh mi. I asked about the pate and she claimed it’s vegan.
Unsurprisingly when I got home my banh mi had mayo on it. Maybe they were hoping I’d just eat it without looking inside. But an absolutely bizarre lie to tell saying something is not on a sandwich that clearly is. We went back and explained the difference between vegan and vegetarian and looking at the owners reaction I actually believe she didn’t know but is happy to use trendy terms like ‘vegan’ and ‘plant based’ anyway. Giving her the benefit of the doubt on this she definitely outright lied saying all banh mi ingredients are vegan and that mine had no mayo. I was offered a replacement which I refused as I don’t trust them and a refund which I refused as they clearly want the money more than me if they are willing to blatantly lie.
TL:DR in summary vegetarians knock yourself out, vegans avoid even with Vietnamese translator.

Most vegan banh mi options - Edit
I believe the owner was working when I went, and he knew very clearly what constituted as vegan. From his descriptions, everything was vegan, but another reviewer got different information. The shop says “plant-based, vegan, and more” so that’s a bit confusing.
Read moreHowever, my 2 banh mis definitely didn’t have any mayo on them, and I’m sure everything in what I ordered was dairy and egg free. The man running the store said all the coffee would be vegan as well once they get it going in a month. Check for yourself though.
Anyways, both sandwiches were so delicious and made very carefully and beautifully. And the owner tried to give us the food for free because he thought we only had card and didn’t take card. We had cash though. Super friendly!
