Great Vegan Menu - Edit
They have a great separate vegan and vegetarian menu, nice staff, good prices, delicious homemade vegan cheese (we paid $ 25 for a burger with fries and a vegan grilled cheese with bean soup)

Haven’t forgotten this place - Edit
I came here a few years ago when visiting Key Largo. Salad isn’t usually my go to but the Joe vs the Volcano salad was soo good. I enjoyed the vegan grilled cheese as well. If I’m ever in the area again, I’m definitely stopping back

At least they are trying! - Edit
The Mac and cheese was just truly “ok” and the black bean tacos need spice! The sweet potato burger was the best thing. We appreciate they have a separate menu for vegetarians/vegans.

Laid back Keys atmosphere was great. Loved the separate vegan menu and had tons of options. The grilled cheese and black bean soup was so good! I also enjoyed the vegan coconut cake immensely! My non vegan partner also enjoyed his meal.

Lots of options. We had the veggie burger and fries, and the grilled cheese w/black bean soup and sweet potato fries. We also had giant iced teas and coconut cake. Our favs were the black bean soup and sweet potato fries. Excellent service!

A few great items - Edit
This was my second visit to this spot since they have a separate vegan menu in an area with few options. The fried tomatoes are delicious but over priced. The pasta is amazing. Tried the vegan grilled cheese and it is not anything like a grilled cheese unfortunately. I do not suggest. The coconut cake is a very dry cake but the frosting was so good.

Decent options - Edit
I appreciated the veg/vegan menu that gave a number of options and ate here twice during a stay in key largo (as it was convenient). Service was quick. Black bean tacos were good. Fries and green beans also! I’d avoid the the coconut cake. Ours was very dry.

One of the few places with multiple clearly marked vegan options in the area. I really enjoyed the vegan grilled cheese and will definitely be going back.

Nice midway stop in the Keys - Edit
My family stopped at Ballyhoo's on our way home after we saw they had a separate Vegan/Vegetarian menu. We sat outside with our dog. The server was very friendly but the service was a little slow. Took a while for the food to make it to the table. We weren't in hurry though. Otherwise we were all happy with the portions. The black bean burger was huge. And the fries, as one of the many side choices were great, not your typical frozen spuds. The black bean tacos were also good. And the grilled cheese with black beam soup was also filling. The cheese for the grilled cheese was a different take on vegan cheese. Not your normal smooth consistency, but we cleaned our plates. We took a piece of their coconut cake home with us and enjoyed it together.

Delicious vegan options! - Edit
I only wish I had realized they had a separate vegan menu before I ordered. I got the sweet potato burger which was good but would have been better with a sauce I’d some sort. I got the roasted mushrooms as a side and they were amazing! I put some on my burger and it was good that way too. I wouldn’t leave without getting a piece of vegan coconut cake to go. I ate it later after slightly warming it and it was really good!

Splendid Find! - Edit
We found this small, quaint restaurant on the way from the Keys to Miami. They had a full vegan/vegetarian menu for us to order and were more than helpful with veganizing some of their regular menu items as well! Service was great, and the food was delicious! And their homemade ketchup was out of this world!!! A must-stop gem!

Good food at Sal's Ballyhoo's - Edit
Very good vegan menu. Lots of options. I had the vegan grilled cheese with blackbean soup. The soup was very good. The homemade beer bread was really special. The coconut milk cheddar was good but not really special. I would get it again but then I would also like to try their other offerings.

Has its own veg menu - Edit
Ask for the separate vegan menu. There are several choices, and they all look good. The vegan grilled cheese was interesting. I liked it but didn’t love it. They make their cheese fresh in-house and it comes out a little globby and strange tasting. I kind of wish they’d just use Follow Your Heart but I’m just grateful they have it! The black bean soup was good too.

Many vegan options - Edit
This place has a separate vegan/vegetarian menu with good options. I ate here 2 nights in a row. The vegetable curry was amazing- a little pricey but worth it! I also had the black bean burger and that was very tasty, too. The vegan coconut cake was a little heavy but ok. It's nice to have a dessert option.
