Many options and lovely staff - Edit
So many of the meals on the menu can be made vegan which is always very exciting. The nasi goreng and mie goreng are soooooo good. Highly recommend. Very good food, lots of tofu and tempeh! The staff are lovely and service is fast.

Crazy delicious vegan Balinese - Edit
Wow just so delicious! Came here for lunch and got the vegan Nasi kuning, all parts of the dish were so delicious. Also got the sticky rice dessert cooked in pandan which was also yum - and a bargain at $4.
Read moreSo many vegan options for a non-vegan restaurant. They have heaps of tempeh varieties I had never tried/heard of including chickpea and adzuki tempeh. I haven’t had much Indonesian food before I think mostly because I don’t come across many vegan options, but I want to come back here and try everything😄

Disappointed I couldn't give this restaurant 5 stars, it was incredible. Lovely, welcoming staff who are enthusiastic to explain all the vegan and GF options. Adzuki tempeh randang and specials menu are a must try. Balinese spice magic indeed, wish this one was in my local area. Thank you 💫

Read moreHas a separate vegan menu with lots of delicious, unique food on it. They're very accommodating of vegans as their owner is allergic to meat, so they understand the important of cross contamination (this also applies to people with any allergies, not just vegans).

This is one of our fav restaurants. It has a separate vegan menu and so many choices. All of it is super tasty, spicy and delicious. The people that run it are lovely. Can’t recommend it enough.

Had dinner here with friends when visiting Wollongong. Food was lovely with many vegan choices. The tofu spring rolls were amazing and the vegan magic combo was lovely.

We were super excited to try this place out as we lived in south east Asia for over 10 years and really miss traditional tempeh and good spicy food. The dinner started out well with some extreme tasty starters. Everything went wrong at the mains though. We ordered the vegan special (which stipulated it was vegan!). We started eating the rice mixture that was part of the meal and thought it tasted a bit strange. I continued to dig through it only to find a big CHICKEN BONE in the middle of the rice mixture. When we called someone over to show her, she was very surprised and explained they had given us the wrong rice with the meal. She replaced our meal for something else and took that one meal off the bill. That was the only compensation they offered and they didn’t really seem too concerned that they had just feed two vegans a big plate of chicken filled rice. We both felt too ill to eat any of the replacement meal and left feeling rather disgusted at the whole experience and their lack of care.

Had lunch with my boyfriend we had the Spice Magic vegan plate and Mie goreng noodles to share it was delicious. Noodles in particular blew our mind ✨ we also had two Druid fluid Indonesian tonic drinks the staff were so lovely they gave us a free Pandan dessert! Highly recommend such a great experience best Indonesian food I have ever had!

We quite enjoyed eating out at Balinese Spice Magic. Lots of vegan entrees and mains to choose from and a large variety of different types of tempeh. I had the Lawar Tempeh and Edamame Beans, it was quite tasty, but a little dry. My partner had the Vegan Magic which had a great range of different types of tempeh and different meals, that looked quite tasty! Nice vibe and feel to the restaurant, would definitely go their again

Staff are fun and friendly and spent time recommending suitable dishes.
You can absolutely control the spiciness/heat of your dishes - we went for “Bali hot” and got a properly hot meal.
Lots of vegan options including the Magic plate which comes with soup, rice and lots of different dishes to try.
Desserts also include vegan options like banana pancakes with gelato.
Wonderful, wonderful restaurant - a must visit for all vegans in Wollongong.

I would give this 5 stars if I could (though that option is not available to non-vegan restaurants). The food is delicious with variable degrees of spice (depending upon what you like) and that staff are absolutely lovely. Many vegan options.
